OPINIONS!!!!

You know they say that opinions are like a**holes everyone has one but no one really wants to here it. I have been asked several times through the years my opinion on something and was given a smirkish look and a reply stating that I couldn't say that.
I've been told that so and so is going to hear you, you better watch what you say or it may get back to the individual the remark was made about.
This doesn't bother me because my opinion was asked and I told it like it is. I don't sugar cote and am not afraid of the repercussion that may come from what I may or did say.
I tell it how I see it and feel it, and if people don't like the response they get from me that's their issue not mine.
Are you one of those people that is a straight shooter, or do you sugar cote the answer to keep from offending people?
Everyone deserves an opinion, if you don't want or like the opinion learn not to ask.

    I have been called 'blatantly honest' - although it wasn't meant as a compliment, I took it as one.

    I believe in telling the truth and sometimes the truth hurts. 'the truth is a double-edged sword'.

    If you dont' want my opinion, don't ask me.

    However, I have learned being 'opinionated' can be obnoxious and connotes close-mindedness to me. Sometimes people don't want your opinion, they just want you to listen.

    I have learned to be more tactful in some ways and use 'with all due respect' and 'in my opinion' a lot - and that is the extent of my sugar coat.

    I have an open mind in most things and as adamant as I may be that my opinion is correct, I will glady change it if someone can convince me otherwise.

    I do not believe truth is subjective - There can be your opinion and my opinion, and the truth may be somewhere else completely - our opinions do not change the truth.

    I hate the theory that 'there is no truth, only perception' - IN MY OPINION, there could be nothing further from the truth...

    There is another saying which goes something like

    If you don't want to know the answer, don't ask.

    I've sugar-coated if I think the answer is something that needs to be
    spoken lightly if it will hurt feelings needlessly (do I look fat in this dress, LOL).
    But if you want my opinion - be ready to hear it. If you don't wanna know
    don't ask for it for cripes sakes. People have to use some intelligence, eh?
