Wow. That video was awful! Obviously, the machine was set to go and it started up when the door was closed. The father thought it would be funny to put the kid in there, not realizing the machine would start and the door would lock.

Let it be a lesson to everybody: don't risk the lives or safety of your little ones because ACCIDENTS DO HAPPEN!

And afterwards, when the kid's arm is broken or he's dead, nobody cares or sympathizes with you when you say, "I didn't mean for that to happen."

    Just don't do it.

YEAH! Front loading washers really HAVE to lock when they start, and CAN'T unlock until the end of the cycle. IMAGINE what would happen if they DIDN'T lock! Dryers are different. They don't flood with water. Anyway, commercial washers often don't allow changing the cycle.

At least someone there was smart enough to unplug the machine. I hope they took that kid to hospital, the poor kid could have hit banged his head several times and have hidden trauma. They probably weren't smart enough to do that, though, if they're that dumb in the first place.

    Idiots.

Least it wasn't a Microwave, (please no baby jokes)!

A cat went through that, (washing machine) as well, and was seriously dehydrated, with other problems. Thankfully the cat came through.

Sheesh. Back in my late teens, after a few "smokes" me and my mates used to go to the local laundromat and ride in the dryers.

Set the temperature to cold and leave the door open. Loadza fun.

Kind of like the time I got the bright idea to hook my Husky to my 4 year old daughters Big Wheel for a pull around the backyard....ooops!

He was MUCH faster than me...

(And I'll never forget the "Why Dad?" look on my daughters face just before she, Husky, and Big Wheel disappeared over the edge of the shallow ravine that bordered the backyard...)

The WHOLE idea of dryers and washers is AGITATION! Washers ALSO BEAT! They provide HEAT and HUMIDITY! And WASHERS throw in poisons, surfactants and water. Front loading washers HAVE to seal the doors.

You would think that they would KNOW it was DANGEROUS! They don't teach this stuff in school, but it is just SO obvious!

They probably think that it is funny to put the child into the washing machine in the first place but accidents do happen. They should never do that in the first place. Poor child! There are times when you can joke and have fun but at other times, you need to be serious because of the serious repercussions involved.

Since some of us are confessing our parental sins here . . .

I suppose many of us do dumb things we later regret... like the time I told my kid to slide down the slide: "Don't worry. Daddy will catch you. It will be fun!"

However ... instead of catching my boy I was too busy filming him on video ... and managed to "capture" him on film as he flew off the end of the slide onto the ground!

Purely unintentional and not funny. He didn't get hurt, but I felt awful that I had broken my promise.

Please don't put it on your version of "funniest video". Those sort of shows are full of idiots. Unfortunately some do it on purpose to win a TV, etc, and probably seriously hurt themselves.

Pity they didn't knock themselves off, the world may be a better place without them.

Although in Australia, stupid parents tend to leave their kids in a car in the sun on a hot day, and play the pokies. Then unless someone else hears the kids screaming, and calls an ambulance, her kids will be well done!

Although the stupidest thing l heard in AU, was someone going over the West Gate Bridge, (for non-Au, residents, it is a very tall suspension bridge) and throwing one of his daughters over the side, because she was screaming?

Although later on when he got life, their was good evidence, he did it to get his wife back, for divorcing him?

Hopefully no-one can top that stupid act, but time will tell.
