I've always said I am lazy even though people who know me disagree.
But my thinking is that I'm always looking for the fastest proper way to do anything I'm doing. The sooner I get the job done the sooner I can relax, the better I do the job the less chance I have of having to go back and fix mistakes.

Well, I DO often ponder for a while how quickly I can write a program to do a given job. My last such thing was to go through a cobol program to find out where each field started. Ironically, the traditional way is to do it MANUALLY, though there can be hundreds of fields. But is that REALLY lazy?

I have read books that said that the way to get ahead was to get between a lazy person, and a diligent one, and have the diligent one do all your work. Now THAT is lazy!

    • I don't know that I appreciate being called LAZY!

I prefer to be called "Ergonomically Innovative"

*But I'm with Thom...once I get the job down, I am always looking to see if there is a better way to do it..."that's just how it's always been done" doesn't sit well with me -

I've struggled to self-define myself and my attitude to work, but now I've got it!
