My reaction though was that it was a little sick. I little undignified. I didn't get why someone would want to do that.

I think so. i would not do it, and i prob would not be friends with anyone who did it.

Sorry it wasn't necessarily mean't to be blatant self promotion and I'd understand if it was removed, just as you say with these kinds of silly 'off-topics' I thought ah where's the harm

low stress here buddy, you added some quality to the site, and i do not make the rules, there is enough crap / spam on the site to fill a dummster 100 times over so i doubt this would do any harm.
