My friend filmed this yesterday. The city says it will scare tourists away... I think they're crazy! What do you guys think?

I think your friend is right.

I'd avoid it like the plague. If I wanted to be assaulted with gnarly nudeness, I'd join a nudist colony. Otherwise, there is a time and place for nakedness, and public streets aren't it, imo.

I agree with you. Maybe when I was a teenager I would have felt differently,
      lol.

This is a manifestation of the student protests taking place in Montreal (about new austerity measures, what else).

Agreed, however a nude protest is the only way to guarantee that it'll be reported in the media.

Why do garden gnomes smell so bad?
So that blind people can hate them as well.

I never got into that. It's got a strong taste and it's kind of fatty. I prefer my bread toasted without spreading anything on it.

                LOL Rob!

But now I must ask because I've never really thought about it before as I've never been to Mardi Gras or studied up on it.

How exactly does one earn faux beaded necklaces?

Tightens every muscle of body in fear of the answer, haha.

@ Rob - tricky of you to post the link to the "infamous boat scene" like that. I thought I was going to see a scene from a movie.

If you lift your shirt, that's not what you'd be showing. Lifting skirt or kilt, yes.

Nope, I have never had the pleasure of either of those places...I guess I need to get to the Great White North(east) more often...

BTW: If this is a demonstration on "how to be nude" - these guys aren't very good at it...
                  It's really pretty easy to do...I don't know why you'd need instructions...

I'm from Canada and that nude demonstration in Montreal looked stupid to me as well. I'm not opposed to the students cause. That said, education needs an overhaul from the ground up. Obviously university education is not necessarily relevant when it comes to making a living. One fast-growing group of people on food stamps are phds:

Why So Many Ph.D.s Are On Food Stamps : NPR

So, it is a legitimate question to ask what is in it for Canadian taxpayers (or American or any other nationality) to subsidize university education. College education directly related to acquiring skills applicable to available jobs (vs esoteric university education) is easier to justify as a national investment, yet such education actually tends to cost more.

Looked like a 12 year old shot it,and there was no meaning in it. Never showed what the protest was about, then it cut to some editing where it looked like 1 (one) person was hassling the Authorities and was taken down for it,and ended with some film about an "event" that happened "earlier" that seemed to have nothing to do with either of the other parts of the film.

SO I have to ask, What's it all about,Alfie?
