This is a typical day, not the usual touristy sugar coated, stuff you see on TV.

Ok, l will get the ball rolling, with my recent visit to the city of Melbourne, (Victoria, Australia) yesterday.

Haven't visited Southbank, but l have heard that it is a windswept, concrete jungle with the occasional very expensive restaurant!

Ok, l was going to the new age festival, and firstly tried to figure out the new Mike, (something like that) ticketing system, within a few minutes before missing my train.

I couldn't figure out how to make it do concession, so l paid the $10 minimum, plus another $6 to get into Melbourne, (usually $5.50 con).

Then at the train station, they changed the trains, because they were running late, and after doing a panic, l hopped onto the right train, and got into Melbourne.

After getting off the train, and scanning my ticket trice, after turning back and reading that l only needed to scan it once. Arrrrghhh, l made my way to Southgate.

In Melbourne, l walked up Southgate, they are tearing up the arts centre at present, but it should be good when finished.

Made my way to a new age festival at the Exhibition Centre, spend a few hours there, and walked back after blowing a small amount at the Crown Casino, (what else :rolleyes and getting pestered by the usual, we are broke, we need a handout crowd.

Then l made my way up to Hungry Jacks at the Corner of Flinders and Bourke st, for dinner and the usual drunk outside!

Then after finally getting the hang if our new annoying ticketing system went home.

But on a positive point, the Yarra river which was dead still with the Skyscraper lights at night was beautiful.

Hope l haven't put any tourists off, you may not have anyone approach you asking for a handout, but it occasionally happens to me.

And Melbourne, is nice especially hotel Sofitel, 35 floor at Collins Place, you can get a fantastic view of Melbourne, especially from the toilets, but men keep your eye out for helicopters. LOL

It would be fascinating to hear from residents who visited London, Paris, etc for the day, and hear the good, bad and ugly!

Shane.
