  • Yes they do indeed seem to be a bit disorganized, but you did say it was a small company. I would keep persuing it and communiicating with them. It can only help. Jobs do not grow on trees and it is a good thing they are offering a job to you even if it is not yet going smoothly.
  • Thanks for chiming in. So, you think I should still call them back today even though I left a voicemail and sent an email yesterday? Don't think I should give it a day rest? The job is supposed to start the last week in June as per the offer. Not sure why it's taking so long for them to get back to me though. Thanks.

  • And if I do call them back, should I leave another voicemail?
  • You NEVER know!

The TRUTH? They are ALL disorganized! It is UNREAL! I would tell you stories about the company I worked at with a quarter million employees, or the companies I worked at woth THOUSANDS of stores, or the government agencies, etc... But you might not believe me, and they may figure who I am talking about, so I will leave it at that.

If the average company were organized, they could probably save over $50K per employee per year, AND give everyone a RAISE and STILL increase profit! And if those numbers don't seem to match up, NICE OBSERVATION! MOST of the managers and most of the employees under them would be gone. The place with a quarter million employees may have less than 100K! BUT be more efficient, do more, make more, and cost LESS!

  • I'd call back at the end of the day (which I'm sure is now, but I don't know exactly where you are.) A CEO of a small (or startup?) business is bound to be swamped with things to do, so unfortunately it might be up to you to butting yourself back up on his priorities through phone calls. Once a day isn't an outrageous amount of phone calls, but I wouldn't call more than that and end up bugging him.

Ok, so I went to 2 interviews with a small software company and was offered the job. Sounds ok, so far, but here's the problem. When I finished the 2nd interview(June 1st) I asked them when a decision would be made and they told me they would be in touch later in the evening (Friday). Well, I didn't hear from them, so I assumed that they had given the job to someone else, but then I decided to followup with an email on the Tuesday in case they still hadn't made a decision. Sure enough, the CEO had not been feeling well, so he didn't have a chance to meet with the two other managers and make a decision. He told me that he would be in touch on the Wednesday(last week). On the Wednesday even(after working hours), I got a call from the CEO where he offered me the job. He said he would send an offer to my email account within a few hours, but it never showed up.
