In a move that could cost him his seven Tour de France titles, former cyclist Lance Armstrong is now facing formal doping charges from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency.

Armstrong has never tested positive for drugs, and on Wednesday he vehemently denied the USADA charges.

Why can't they just drop this? Personally, I think Lance won because he is a Champion, he worked his ass off to become the best in one of the toughest endurance sports in the world. He has passed every test they have ever thrown at him...

Huh. I wonder whose campaign he refused to fund.

I've been into cycling for many years, and I'm a huge Lance Armstrong fan. In fact, he's the only reason I started watching the Tour De France. And since he retired, I don't even have any interest in the Tour anymore, ha.

What an amazing dude, though. His autobiography ("It's not about the bike") is one of the most inspiring books I've ever read. What he accomplished.... especially after what he went through... is simply unbelievable.

I personally don't think any of the doping allegations against him are true, but even if they were, that would not make what he accomplished any less amazing, in my opinion. You don't win the Tour 7 times simple because your performance is "slightly enhanced". It takes a heck of a lot more than that!

I think the USADA is just jealous that one man dominated a single sport for so long, ha!

  • You just said everything I wanted to say Brandon

I wanted to be objective at first and just post the story, but I couldn't help put my 2 cents in, because like you I am a big Lance fan, and an avid cyclist (read the books too - I gave a copy of that book to a cancer patient friend of mine who hadn't ridden a bike since she was a little girl, and she loved it, she even asked me about getting a new bike )

Besides...who are they going to give the win to? Just about every serious contender but Lance has already admitted to doping or failed a test at one time or another...that's why they can't believe he doesn't too...
