Gee, I thought this was well done, and had a nice message. I'll tell you what I got from it!

She told people about the WEIRD circumstance, and they thought she was NUTS and "tried to help". They offered empty gestures, etc... In short, they considered HER part of the tin foil hat crowd. She was bright, and tried to counter EVERYTHING herself!
I shouldn't say what happened in the end, but it goes to show. Sometimes odd things DO happen. You never know, a lot of things, that we deal with today, were considered FANTASY by many in 1970.

IMAGINE what they would have thought in 1910 if you told them that 50 years later we would have a practically PERPETUAL way to make energy, could transmit it all over the planet easily, and use it to light every home. IMAGINE if you told them that in the 1940s a country that they knew little about would send over huge armies to try to destroy us, and we would use the basis of that perpetual power in a bomb, dropped by ONE tiny plane, to practically obliterate an entire city of theirs and scare everyone into calling a truce.

Or HEY, how about in the 1980s having machines, that could do almost anything, and certainly many of the mental tasks, in almost every home.

It's good, but I'm afraid many people won't watch it. It's not that long, but it's fairly slow moving and you have no idea where it's going until about halfway through. Very well done short film though!

  • Dang! Now I have to make another Hat!

I used my last one to reheat a Calzone...

This is really all just a plot by the Aluminum lobby, to get people to buy more tin foil...isn't it...:p

The clip was good, the hanging ending sucked. Would make a good movie. Like Steve said, I'd probably watch it ... sooner or later.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

My speakers are out until tomorrow so I guess I just might as well sit and polish up my tinfoil so I can look nice when I watch it.

Thanks for the laugh! I don't know why, but it ALSO has CAPTIONS! Of course, it probably WOULD lose SOMETHING without sound. The first part kind of sets up the problems she has had.

I thought of YOU when I saw it because you speak so much of such hats.

BTW I don't think they ever actually show, or speak of, tin foil.

No I am not extremist. I have been studying earth science for some years now. (see my sig for my latest report).
I also do not believe in warming - however - there is change, and a major one going on. The crisis is desertification, not heat. Had it not been for heat we wouldn't have been able to produce to over-carrying capacity levels. I've covered this in other threads, and climatologists not linked to government funding agree. I'm not saying there's no problems, just saying that the one they wanted to try to cram down our throats via some institutions was one that they could pass off for taxes. They twisted so much info. For example - why, when they talk about the Northern sea warming did they not mention the fact there are underwater volcanoes erupting in that area? Molten lava has a way of heating things up, ya think? If I were to sit down with you face to face and lay everything out for you that scientists are working on without much publicity right now, you would not only understand -- but it would scare you a little crapless, which is why they are working without a LOT of publicity about what they are doing. I don't count on Internet for much of my information so don't yell about links. I've pointed people to icecap.org so they can start getting clues. It's got a LOT of info from non-gov profiting climatologists. Even those that originally signed the IPCC petition are now pulling back calling foul. Right now scientists are angry and want freedom from political editing.
