Anger Management

Anybody watch it tonight?

It looks OK. Hard to judge at first until the characters are more developed...But it appears to be a mix of Two and a Half Men and Dear John.

  • I could always use a good laugh.

I wasn't a fan ( and not a detractor ) of any of Chucks' TV work but his roast on CC give me an insight into his comedic mind.

As far as he's concerned, he has ridden out his latest professional and personal storm and he has emerged "unscathed"

I'll give the show a try!

I'll search for it and record it. I like to record stuff and watch it later and zip through the commercials.

    Thanks for the reminder!

  • It was OK. It's definitely better than Two and a half men with Kutcher but I'm not ready to pop popcorn and call friends over to watch it with me. Hs still has his old comedic timing which does puts you in the mind of Charlie Harper but we'll see.

If nothing else it gives me something to do until Suits comes on at 10.
  • He's not going to start wearing 'Cosby' sweaters now...is he? :p

I couldn't figure out if that was even before a live studio audience or not, because the laughter seemed so timed and canned...but I will give it a shot and a chance at a unique character development.

Let's look at the "Mad-libs" of today's "sitcom" outlines: (just fill in the blanks!)

Hi, I'm a divorced father whose job is (____ ), who has a really cute but acerbic ex-wife (____ ) and really precocious, but developmentally disabled kid(s)

"Join me for 30 (22) minutes each week, as I try to sort out the 'trials and tribulations' of my crazy life!"

No offense Charlie...but at least "Wilfred" - the show that is on after you, is trekking into new territory of psychotic comedy...and not just some watered-down 'anger management'.

    • I really liked Wilfred last season. I even watched a few episodes of the original Australian version but he trekked from psychotic comedy to just psychotic. :p

      Personally, I prefer Louie.

Did anyone watch Brand X? I've had my fill of Russell Brand so I wasn't ready to jump on that show.

  • I was ready to give this show a shot but I heard very mediocre reviews on it so maybe i'll just wait it out a bit and see if it finds its legs. It is hard to enjoy shows with a laugh track these days as many comedies tend to break away from that technique.
  • I've watched Louie a few times...It seems like a poorman's Curb Your Enthusiasm to me...
  • Holy Frijole!

"Anger Management Scores Big Ratings in Debut
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 06.29.2012

    A record…

Charlie Sheen's Anger Management is a hit, at least in the first night. EW reports that the show scored 5.5 million viewers for the first episode last night and 5.7 million for the second episode.

Those numbers make it F/X's highest-rated series premiere, as well as the highest-rated scripted comedy in cable history. The two episodes did a 2.7 and 2.9 rating in the 18-49 demos, respectively."

    • Well, they've been pitching it for months - a big initial turnout could be expected...we'll have to see in a few weeks - like Ashton had to...
  • I thought you were starting an official Warrior anger management class Kurt....sorry havent seen the show.

    • I haven't seen the show either. We don't have a TV at home. For me, the show is people's reactions to the show.
  • Anger Management is very necessary now a days because all the persons are very short tempered and in stress.

    • A guy tried to tell me that once...but he change his mind after I slapped some sense into him
