What Do You Do to Wind Down Before Going to Sleep?

Hi, l usually watch the start of Avatar, with the spaceship scene, on my Laptop!

Or the part in Timecop where he puts down 100,000 shares in an oil company after the 1930 stock market crash, l am sure that a lot of people would love to buy some oil stock at 1 cent a share and take it out in 2004 at almost 400 a share!

Or l watch the start of Star Trek, motion picture, brings back fond memories of my childhood in the 80,s. Going down to the arcades and playing Gauntlet with my friends, or Joust, etc by myself, sign .

Helps me to relax and get ready for bed, at the wee hours in the morning!

I may occasionally watch a Motivational Amit Veta, video from a PPC course l did with them a while ago. Helps to keep me motivated, etc...

So, what does everyone else generally do before going to sleep?

Shane

I put on my headphones and listen to a streaming news program. That puts me to sleep in no time at all.

I have lots of options. I have sleeping tablets I can take or melatonin tablets.
I listen to relaxation music. I have one track I play and I never hear the end of it.
    I drink camomile tea.

My problem is not falling asleep. It is staying asleep for long enough to get good quality sleep. I have insomnia, mild sleep apnoea and chronic pain. I sleep in a medical bed similar to a hospital bed but you can adjust the feet and head much more than a normal hospital bed and the mattress is more comfy.

I read wonderful posts like that and try to recall how many times I've said or have seen someone say, "Posts in the Off Topic forum don't contribute to your post count.

Works every time, like counting sheep.

I used to just keep on going until I started to fall asleep in front of the computer but I have since learned that I get a better sleep when I relax some and watch a little tv, sometimes this works well.

sometimes it does not, I think it is more about how you feel, I am not beyond a few drinks from time to time either.

When I'm ready to sleep I don't need to wind down. I can fall asleep anywhere and any time I want to. I've been known to cut z's with a live band in the house. So when I want to go to sleep - if I'm not too tired, I go to bed. If I'm too tired to go to bed I just sleep where I am. I usually wake up on the floor in the morning when I do that one, though.

I make myself get off the computer at least 30 minutes (an hour is better) before I go to bed. Then I read some fiction for 30 minutes.

I just watch something on netflix, either a movie or a tv show, just depending on how much time I have before I "want" to go to sleep....if I try and do work, I'll end up laying in bed continuing to think about the work I was doing and how to improve/ where I could take it and could end up laying awake for a good while
