About Me and How I got Started

Hello All!

My name is Chris and I live in upstate, NY which is about 1hr and half from the NYC. I have been studying internet marketing for the better part of 7 years now but have only had success the last 2 years, mainly because up until then I would only educate myself and wasn't taking any real action.

During that time finding an untapped niche was all the rave and the thing to do. My uncle at the time had bought some racing pigeons so I asked him "what the hell is pigeon racing?" after he filled me in I thought to myself this may be the untapped niche I had been looking for. I began researching and found that there was a small yet faith full community in this niche and I also found that it was indeed untapped. There were no digital products, no affiliates and noone doing any kind of internet marketing at all so I thought to myself this is a niche I feel I can get into and become an authority in.

I began by building a website and because I had no clue about this niche I simply found articles and content online and asked If I can post them on my site. I knew how important it was to build a list so I created a squeeze page. and because there were no products in this niche I created my first Clickbank product called "The Pigeon Racing Formula".

After all that I began updating my site daily and doing SEO and slowly my site began getting good organic rankings for some of my keywords and traffic slowly began flowing. I captured these leads into my list and began building a relationship with them by giving them good content. Once I had somewhat of a list built up I finally launched a few emails promoting my Clickbank product and in roughly 2 weeks I made just over $2,200.
I then began incorporating PPC and social media to drive targeted traffic and continue building my list and repeated the process.

I now have 4 clickbanC products and working on a 5th, over 6,000 subscribers on my email list, 7,000 fans on the fanpage and the site has since become an authority in the Pigeon Racing niche.

My goal now is to enter into a bigger more ever green niche, because although this tiny niche gave me experience and taught me many many good lessons it still hasn't given me the ability to go full time online as I still work a full time 9 to 5 CRAP!! day job.

If you have any questions or comments please feel free to let me know because I really do look forward to getting to know all of you.

Look forward to hearing from you
To your success!
-Chris

    • Hey alfid thanks a bunch, to be honest in my opinion I think people should focus on the big evergreen niches instead of tiny untapped ones. Yes it makes a nice monthly income however if I would have invested all the time I have in this niche in one of the big three, health, wealth and Relationships I think I would be making much bigger income. But it's also good to diversify, but in the end it all comes down to one thing TAKE ACTION!.
  • interesting, I have been 4 years full online since I have graduated from hogeschool in Netherlands on 2008

    • This is a very inspiring post. It's taking action that brings the results that we want. Information is great but it must be coupled with action otherwise it's all in one ear and out the other. Great motivating post and I'm sure you'll soon quit your day job

    • Thanks bangzenk!, thats really inspiring to me as going full time online is my goal!
  • That is a cool story...I think I actually ran across your product when I was scouting CB niches a few months ago!

Since you clearly have a lot of internet marketing experience, why not luanch some IM related products, or better yet become an affiliate for some 100% commission programs?

I like the fact of promoting membership websites & setting up residual income streams...

    • Hey mlord,

Thanks!, yea I am actually working on my own IM stuff right now, lol yea I actually have 4 clickbank products in the pigeon racing niche and working on a fifth, you should deffinetly become an affiliate lol.
  • That's awesome - way to think outside the box!

Now, I'm just curious about one thing..

How do you race a pigeon??
    • [ 1 ] Thanks

    • LOL I get asked that alot, basically racing pigeons will always fly back to their home loft. So for example lets say me and you have racing pigeons we basically load them up together take them out to the race release point and let them go, the birds will fly back to our lofts and they are clocked electronically when they land home by bands on their legs. Then it's calculated by the time and distance the bird flew which bird flew home the fastest and that declares the winner. Hope that makes sense to you if not let me know.
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Congrats mate, its always nice to hear about success stories.

  • That's my new favorite 'random niche success story' I'm going to tell people now. Nicely done. (the old one was a guy I met at aff summit west who was crushing it in the farm animal stud industry online...strange niche as well)

    • Oh thats a good one too!! lol glad you liked the post Scottie. Yes basically any niche that has a passionate community behind it no matter how big or small can be profitable. The key is to really connect with that community and build a relationship with them.
  • It's really great. Loved your enthusiasm and you definitely provided a great insight.

    • Thanks locke! glad youi enjoyed the post.
  • Great! It reminded me of my story. I started my online biz with only 1 Moondancing gig on Fiverr. Til now, I've earned 1000 usd and the orders are still rolling in!
Anyway, I will share my story in another thread.
Congratulations for u! Keep up the good work, bro!

    • OMG tumichael, thats too cool! my mom is I'm pretty sure the biggest MJ fan on the planet she has an entire room dedicated to him lmao. Great way of combining two different niches! very inspiring. Dance away my man!!!

  • hey! it's GREAT, u know! GREAT feeling to see a BIG fan of MJ (although she's not a member here lol). And hey, would u mind saying Hi to her for me, and ask her what's her favorite song that she wants to see the dancing but MJ hasn't performed it, then shot me a pm, I will send you something that will make her "WOW!" (Brrr, my English is too confused, rite?).
The idea is u ask her "hey mom, what song u wish to see MJ dance but he hasn't performed anywhere?". Don't tell her anything about me yet. After getting the song's name. Pls pm me and I will film a video of me dancing to that song and upload it on mediafire and send u the link to download. Note: . No Money, No Intention, No Offer/Favor-in-return involved!!!
    Strange?
Well, that's the way I am. I love MJ, I love Moodancing, and I love all MJ's fans and I want to spread the L.O.V.E to everyone in the world as MJ did
So, feel really FREE to shot me pm about that song
    Best regards
    Tu Michael
