Children acting as Vampires, Zombies & being aggressive

I have to tell you times are a changing...I am just not used to this kind of thing. I know it comes from the entertainment some people watch and let their children see and that it has been going on a while. Just the same, it bothers me.

My 6 year old niece has had to put up with a child demanding to suck her blood at kindergarten several days in a row. And today a boy where she lives saying he is going to cut out her heart and eat it.

This boy I caught being aggressive to her and another little girl. I thought he was spitting on them, but appears he was just coming very close and making snapping motions, fists clenched then turning and spitting on the ground.

My niece told me what he said, "he is going to cut out her heart and eat it", he denied it. I said I saw his actions, they were aggressive towards the children and that it was not acceptable. If I saw it again I would report it to the manager.

My personal feelings are negative about being entertained about this sort of thing, and what it is teaching children. Is it so common now that it has become part of the kids everyday games in the U.S.?

I don't care WHAT type of imagination a person has, or how young they are, that type of action is WEIRD, and shouldn't be allowed.

Jeannie - you're an intelligent women. Why wait for something else before reporting this behavior? How many times does it have to happen?

Why would such behavior go unchecked several days in a row?

I think parents who ignore aggressive behavior or allow access to violent TV, movies, games, etc - are fools. Is that what they want the child to process and learn....really? You assume your child knows the difference between fantasy and reality - are you sure of that?

I remember as a child not having a concept of past tense or eons of time. I knew about cowboys and monsters and dragons - and I firmly believed they existed NOW - just somewhere else in the world.

I saw that same belief in my young Grandson when he was frightened by a green lizard that ran around a tree trunk. He was very young and to him this was a "baby dragon", not a harmless green lizard.

Seeing what many children are exposed to today - I hate to think what they believe is "real".

Just one warning and then he is reported Kay. It was made clear that it is not acceptable.

As to several days in a row, that was the child who wanted to suck blood. I don't know why my brother was not swifter about doing something.

I wanted to find out how common the playing of games of vampires, zombies and what ever is becoming in school and among children in other areas? Anyone ask their kids and have comments on that?

Weird is right Steve. To me, it also is teaching children that violence and bodily harm towards others is part of life. Psychopathic thinking being introduced as entertainment.
