Hey warriors!
The other day, after I watched a video on youtube I decided that it deservs a thumbs up (Like button) After I liked the video I was asked the dumbest question in my life: "Do you know you have your own YouTube Channel?"
I've been a member since 2008...
I've uploaded over 100 videos...
Why the hell would youtube ask me such a dumb question?
Now... what's your story? What's the dumbest question you've been asked?

  • I had a restaurant years ago, and we had put it up for sale. We had a Realtor.
He places his order, and I get to making his coffee. He starts asking me all kinds of questions about my income, and so on, and I have other customers standing at my counter!
I do want to ad, that the "business" wasn't for sale, the property, buildings and home were.
Now, I had a conveyor oven on at the time, this place was a bakery and more, but this oven was needed, and super noisy!
I could hear him, but I acted like I didn't. I asked him nicely to hold on a sec, I couldn't hear him because of the oven! He continued to ask me more about my income. When I got back to the window after repeatedly telling him I'd be happy to talk to him, but couldn't hear him at the moment, he said to meeee...
"How do you expect to sell this place with that oven on!?"
I honestly didn't know what to say! My only response was "My business isn't for sale, the property is, and that's why we have a Realtor!" Then, I shut the window.
  • When I first saw your question, I thought it was, "What was the dumbest question you've ever asked?" I immediately thought of several really stupid things I've asked people, and was already composing a post with hilarious anecdotes and wonderful parables for fools. Then I reread your question and my witty and detailed response was forever gone, as were the book signings, movie deals, and huge profits from spin-off products that would have accompanied it.

    • This came to mind also - a question you ask to begin a conversation that is so blatantly obvious you have to slap yourself upside the head for asking it... :p
  • I have heard that there is no such thing as a dumb question...

But that could be wrong. What do you think?

    • What do I think about what?

      (drool)
      • [ 1 ] Thanks

    • You can't be serious... I think you heard that wrong!
I know for sure that there are dumb questions, I was asked one yesterday, didn't you read my first post?

Thank you all for your feedback!

    • "Does your dog bite?"
(It wasn't my dog, so I said, "No.")
    • You're not funny... :|
  • I know where you're getting at, but I think it's preprogrammed in their page about it. Maybe the add-on or application program doesn't have that kind of capability to tell if you've been a video contributor to YouTube or not, hence, it's programmed just to pop whenever you do something, comment, thumbs up or anything on that page while you are there. I think that's the most logical thing one can think of whenever you're dealing with something like this.

    • In that case it should be able to make the difference between a 4 years old member and a "guest"
Don't you find that logical? Why would you ask your old members such a dumb question? Is like asking Ray William Johnson or Shaytard if he ever heard of youtube.

@laurencewins you failed this time... enough said.

@Joe Robinson looks like you faced few good ones

@Ernie Lo I agree, people who watch too much TV have their own reality...

"Welcome to Burger King, what can I get for you today?"

"Can I get a Whopper with Cheese?"

    "Sure, that complete your order?"

"Does cheese come on that sandwich?"

"...I need to quit this f***ing job."

That wasn't a one time thing either. Probably 5-8 times a day.

  • You asked a question. I answered it.
Funny or not, it is the truth.
If you don't want people to laugh at times, then don't ask things that may make people laugh.

That awkward moment when you try to give a witty answer, and fail with the delivery.

  • I'm not sure about the dumbest but I irritates me when people repeatedly ask you questions they clearly already know the answer to!
  • "Are you asleep?" and "Are you awake?" WTF do ya expect the answer to be to either if you aren't?
    • [1] reply
    • I know. I think these are the two most asked stupid questions ever.
      lol:-)
  • @MissTerraK Thanks for sharing! Really awkward situation...

@JoeUK You have a good point excepting the rhetorical questions. Also there are situations when you have to ask the same question few times untill you are sure the other one understands the answer.

@HeySal I would name those questions, "check questions" or "trick questions" You just have to use them to be polite. It happends to me too to be asked those questions, now that I think about it, I guess I also used them, didn't you, ever? Can be used as a polite question to wake up somebody, you can get a "Not Anymore" answer or "I am now" I think that's the ideea, to eventually get a answer or to check on somebody, the silence or the snoring can be considered answers...

    • Actually, I stay away from questions like that. Not saying I don't push the bimbo button sometimes when I ask questions - but it's not those questions.
  • On the other hand...
What is the dumbest or most sarcastic answer you have ever given to a dumb question you have been asked?
    • [ 1 ] Thanks

      Dumbest answer...

      "Wanna have sex?"

      "Nah. Not in the mood."
  • What's the dumbest question you've been asked.

    • You are standing totally alone in a restaurant and the hostess says "how many in your party"....does this LOOK like a "party"?

You answer the phone and someone says "who is this" - you don't know who you called?

You answer the phone and someone says "what are you doing" - answering the phone, idiot.

If there are no dumb questions - there are certainly a lot of stupid people talking sometimes.
