I got an email from this company the other day offering me an online job.

I've seen some scams in my 10 years online, but this really does look legitimate, even their website.

However, I'm sceptical, thus my posting it here.

Their website is www.zaivax.com.

Here's the spiel and no, I've never heard of them before and haven't lodged any job applications anywhere. This came as an attachment.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Operations Clerk
Type: Home Based | Part Time | Online Office
DOT Code: 186.137-014
Salary: 3700$/month [44 400$/year]
Hours: 20 hours/week

Probationary Period Offer:
14 days; 5% for every completed order.

To become an Operations Clerk you must have good organizational skills and be able to work under deadline pressure. The Operations Clerk holds a primary management position in a business.The Operations Clerk’s duties affect the profitability of the business.

COMPANY SERVICES OVERVIEW

Zaivax Company is the chief world company which provides such services as financial risk management, insurance and reinsurance brokerage, consulting in labor power resource and out-tasking.

JOB DUTIES
  • Plan, direct, coordinate the operations with customers;
  • Receive/Send payments;
  • Keeping accurate records of operations.
JOB ACTIVITIES

We sometimes have customers that owe us funds and pay us in financial instruments cashable only in the local area. Since we work all over the world, it is much easier for our customers to transfer money to our Operations Clerk who are in the same area. After receiving funds Operations Clerk must record information about transfer and report. Then send money to one of our branches.

WHY DO WE NEED OPERATIONS CLERK? WHAT DOES IT GIVE US?
  • Reduces % of taxes (avoiding double taxation);
  • Reduces expenses for offices maintenance (as Operations Clerk is an official company's representative, so the construction and maintenance of the office is not required);
  • Number of clients is increased (as many customers can't make an international money transfer);
  • Our service is increased (as the international transfer needs about 5 days to reach our central office and then a couple of days to reach the performers branch. Consequently, it slows down our work significantly. It'd be much faster if Operations Clerk receives the money and directs them to the appropriate department/branch. This is how we reduce terms of payments expectation and can provide a service to the customer more promptly).
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or GED;
  • Strong communication skills to be able to communicate with internal customers, vendors and management;
  • Solid analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Strong planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work;
  • Good computer skills;
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products.
Sorry, the thread title is spelt wrong. It's supposed to be Zaivax.

The funds transferring thing is what seems suss to me.

    Thanks to warrior forum and the person who posted reality about them.
    I feel lucky not to send them any confidential information.

    Legitimate companies don't send spam to recruit employees, not in this part of the world anyway. If I were you the next thing I'd do is run a virus scan and malware check on my computer. It's not a good practice to open unexpected attachments. That's one of the leading causes of viruses being spread. The attachment might not be a problem, but better safe than sorry in a case like this.

    I got one from a company in the Bahamas who needed someone to be a property manager at a high-end resort. Big salary, food & housing included.

    Sounded like a harsh working environment to me, so I didn't apply

    I'm wondering what part of the email makes you think it seems legit in the first place?

    A whois lookup of that domain name shows that it was registered on July 13, 2012, and the web site is hosted in Russia. Those seem like very big clues to me.
