Propecia, Baldness Drug, Could Permanently Alter Sexual Function in Men
William McKee claims baldness drug, Propecia, turned him into a woman
"McKee's story may sound hard to believe, but it's not the only one. MSN reports there have been lawsuits filed in 27 states by more than 300 men who claim Propecia affected their sexuality. Many of them report breast growth."

yes yes - ads + disclaimers are my one source of laughs everyday.

to get rid of heartburn or something you are advised to take something that may give you a stroke, heart attack, feelings of suicide, insomnia, kidney failure, coronary thrombosis, homicidal tendencies, and bloating (gasp).

Thank you i would rather suffer with heartburn - guess you can't imagine why.

    ... and now this.

WOW! I decided not to take it primarily because there is a conspiracy of silence!!!!!!! OH, they have known about it for YEARS! If they said NOTHING and there was ONE child born with a birth defect, it could OBLITERATE the company. So what did they do? They said that women should not be exposed to the tablets. Look it up, it is one of the warnings! NOW, they sometimes even say it could cause "birth defects" or some such.

The TRUTH, ironically enough, is that it interferes with a fetuses development into a male. So a baby boy could seem every bit like a baby girl, or be, more likely, something in between. Females apparently don't use DHT and may not ever get any anyway.

To the best of my knowledge, propecia only interferes with an enzyme that turns testosterone into DHT. DHT is what triggers hairloss in some men. It was once considered to be a mere byproduct, but now they consider it to be like a super steroid. And IT is what triggers the development of a male fetus.

STILL, I find it HARD to believe that ALL that can be undone like this. Will it cure baldness? In theory, possibly. From what I understand it is pretty effective. Will it cut back on muscularity? YEP. DHT IS more anabolic than testosterone. Could it trigger breast development? Possibly. But change the curves, shape of the face, sexual preference, etc....? NOPE.

I have trouble believing THAT. But the idea that a girl friend, your wife, a baby younger than about a year, etc.... could come in contact with the tablets, or maybe YOU, having touched them, could get residue on her, or the baby, should be ENOUGH.

Apparently, with male primates, including HUMANS, before their first birthday, they get another point where the testosterone is rather high. The purpose is nt known, but this COULD affect it. Otherwise, the effect is limited, and it should quickly wear off.

It is funny! In a nutshell, the FDA has ONE job! THAT IS IT!!!!!!! ONE!!!!!! If they do this ONE thing then EVERYONE will be happy, they will have done EVERYTHING they should have and NO MORE. JUST ONE THING! What is it?

MAKE SURE the cure is NOT worse than the disease!

OR to put it as SO many have "Make sure the benefits outweigh the risks".
