Hi friends,

Can olive oil be applied to babies. Will it change the skin color.. any idea ??

  • Yes, it turns them green. Don't do it... baby will resent you forever.

    • Why not look at the positive side? They will save a lot by not
having to buy sunscreen and their risk of skin cancer will go
way down. They will be able to pick up free energy from the
sunlight and even save on food. Of course they will probably
      be really grateful.
  • Yeah, I've been unable to stand near trees since I was 3 months old.

Birds just fly right onto me!

    • Yea but being covered in Olive Oil don't they slide right off?
  • No, because I buy the bird stick free brand.
  • I always wear olive oil on a hot date. What is more alluring than to smell edible?

    • Yea but Sal, stop with the anchovies behind the ears will ya:confused::confused:

O.K. you can slap me now
    • Yeah, women just can't resist me after I smear my entire body with chocolate cake...

Well, that's not true. One gave me a bad look and called me a pervert last week but I think that was because she preferred vanilla frosting instead of chocolate. I'm sure my groping her on the city bus had nothing to do with it.

  • Oh that's just real funny, Thom. You know I'm deadly allergic to anchovies.
Geesh. I'm glad I didn't mention the maraschino cherry in my navel.

    • HMMMMMMMMMMMMM cherry:rolleyes::rolleyes:
  • What's this thread even about
How many dates have you been on with Thom, Sal

I only use olive oil for cooking :p I don't put it on babies

    • I make my own olive oil by crushing olives by hand. Anyone tried making baby oil at home?

    • So how do you keep them from sticking to the pan?
  • Unless the olive oil is phenomenally old, applying it to babies will not cause the skin on the oil to change colour.
It would be interesting to know what perverse instinct led you to ask this question.

    • Because olive oil is the best and healthiest skin softener ever. It contains anti-oxidants and the oils are of the variety that keep your skin from turning leathery from sunshine (when your skin turns to leather from sunlight it's because you have the wrong oils, or not enough oils -- or because you're burning the bejebbers out of it, which olive oil also helps prevent).

But - some stuff that's good for adults isn't good for small kids.......so the question only sounded weird, it was actually quite sensible.
  • Olive oil is great for baby's skin. No perfumes to cause allergies and rashes, soaks quickly into the skin, softens the skin, and will not change skin color in any way.

If mama is nursing, mix olive oil with lanolin...use it after nursing to keep her nipples from getting sore and it helps keep milk ducts clear. Also, olive oil with vitamin b17 helps prevent mastisis, inflammed milk glands, all kinds of good things!
