  • Yes, I like reading books. They empower and help me become more knowledgeable.
  • Yes definetely. But I seldom read novels; Mostly I read about IM, science and history..
  • Evidently, because books are gonna live forever, at least that is my wish. I can not say that i am against online books, but the feeling is not the same. I usually order and make my shoppings online, that includes ordering take -out on this site
  • Yes of course, reading books is may past time. I'm currently reading Michio Kaku's Physics of the Impossible; it makes my nose bleed but it's fun to read

    • I've got that book as well. It's brain candy.

I tend to read mostly non-fiction, but it's my principle to read at least one classic novel per year. In addition I get to read a lot of children's books to my son

      My first post. Hello!

  • Books are useful, whether to serve as a footstep to help me reach an upper window, to hold a door open, or to even up the height of a piece of furniture.

    • Yes, i like reading books because it inspired me a lot.
  • I used to read up to 3 novels a week. From different authors and styles. That was after I finished high school. I liked to go to the library and search for strange titles and authors. I think I read almost all Mark Twain's books, even some lectures, what a funny guy. I think he invented the stand up comedy. Jules Verne was one of my favorites. His last short stories are really interesting. Isaac Asimov, another giant. Nowadays I don't have that habit. Instead,I write some things from time to time. My life changed. You get older and the time available isn't enough.
Man,,,I think I just wrote too much.

    • That is quite interesting. Even I do this . Have you ever tried John Murphy's book.
  • I still prefer to study books. I love to read novels, poems and stories. I never feel bore of reading books. Knowledge can never vanish, its just upgrade/improve you more and more.
  • I grew up reading a ton of books - mostly literary classics, encyclopedias, and comic books. Now that I'm an adult, I often find myself wishing I had more time to do some recreational reading. *sigh%

  • Absollutely!
Nothin' better than throwin' a few cold ones in a cooler and
sittin' in the sun with a good book.
Recently finished Jimmy Buffetts' semi-autobiography " A Pirate Looks At Fifty".
Highly recommended, even if you're not a Buffett fan.
Before that I read the 3rd book of the Schaara Civil War trilogy "The Last Full Measure".

Now, I think I'm going to go to some classics. Probably start with Dickens.
  • I've always been a book lover. I read lots of business books but also try to squeeze in some fiction for at least thirty minutes a day.

I would not attempt to be a writer if I didn't love to read.

  • I prefer non-fiction books. self-improvement, business related stuff..
  • I am a bookphile and will read fiction and non-fiction in diverse genres. Science fiction, horror/thrillers (especially Dean Koontz and Stephen King), classics, poetry, true crime, thrillers/whodunits, currently really enjoying Lee Child's books. I also love history, science, religion, literature, essays, philosophy...just about everything.

I read one business related book and one fiction book every week.

    It keeps the mind sharp!

    • Yes, i like to Read Books..........
  • Personally I cant justify the time it takes to read a book, especially since most books are available in movie form these days. The last "book" I read was the real story of Casanova. That captivated me for hours, but that was several years ago.

  • I love to read books...currently I'm reading The Success Principles by Jack Canfield, which is terrific. Just picked up the Kindle version of Wrecked by Jeff Goins, which I'll be reading next.

Recently I heard the following question asked:

Would you prefer a life without books or a life without TV?

If I had to give up one or the other, it would definitely be TV.
