Do They Look Like Gangsters To You?

Salvatore Bonomolo, Sicilian Mafia boss

Sonny Barger, past President of Hells Angels

Ben Bernanke, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the
Federal Reserve System

Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein

David Giles, Vice President Kelowna Chapter of Hells Angels

Edward Liddy, chairman and CEO of AIG

Note: I don't mean to suggest small-time organizations such as the Mafia or Hells Angels are as big a threat to our security or directly affect our lives as much as massive global monsters such as Goldman Sachs, the Federal Reserve Board or AIG.

I'd trust the Hell's Angels over Bernanke, Blankfein, and Liddy.

Back many years ago when the local Breed patched over to H.A. they bought a club house on 9th. st. in Troy.
9th. ST. was considered the most dangerous street in Troy at the time because of all the crack houses and dealers. That is until the H.A.'s moved in. In less then a month of them moving in, you couldn't find a crack dealer or a crack house in a 4 block radius of their clubhouse.
I'm not saying they're saints, but I feel safer around them then I do politicians.

It's a similar story in my vicinity. Also, an allegedly HA-purchased grocery store quickly had no more problem with shoplifters, not sure why.

With the Hell's Angels all you have to do is not cross any lines you shouldn't ... with some of the others you have to worry about what lines THEY cross. Much easier to watch your own step than those of others.

Overall he has some talent but definitely not one to show your children.
It's a harmless photograph, so I amused my toddler with it, sheesh. I read about Lil Wayne and, irrespective of that ridiculous get-up in the photo, he is apparently very talented. I have to admit that when I saw the photo, I wondered if he might be a mentally handicapped individual (definitely wrong about that), or perhaps a stage clown mocking rappers. I guess, in a sense, he is a professional clown. He's been a performer most of his life:
"Lil Wayne was born Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. and grew up in the Hollygrove neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana. ....<snip> Carter enrolled in the gifted program of Lafayette Elementary School and in the drama club of Eleanor McMain Secondary School."

In the photo he looks special, not gifted.

I just have learned not to trust anyone who wears a suit. They just unhinge my trust factor completely. Put an expensive watch with that suit and I'll take two steps backwards just to talk to the dude.

Let's be fair! People wear suits either to look like big shots, to con, to be uniform, or to do business with those that do. Although I agree that the first 2 groups are NOT to be trusted, the second two shouldn't be hurt by it.

BTW about 5% of the customers I deal with I have been in the last 2 groups at least SOMETIMES. Otherwise, I HATE suits! BTW the 5% of the customers HAVE tended to be banks and government.

  • During the Great Depression preceding the passage of the Social Security Act, "soup kitchens" provided the only meals some unemployed Americans had. This particular soup kitchen was sponsored by the Chicago gangster Al Capone.

Of course. Appearance is a very unreliable basis for judgement. A con-artist who looked like a con-artist wouldn't manage to cheat many people.

In my opinion, those guys look like gangsters. @Bravo75, I love that movie and that sequence when they're beating the ... out of the bikers. That's what respect means, they demand respect, they get it. Great!

His diapers are more colorful than my toddler's.

I wanted to add that I am very proud of my toddler. I asked him to locate the diaper in the picture and he pointed to it right away!
