Get notepad to default save to utf-8?
Is there a way to do that? By default it always wants to save as ANSI. I don't even know what that is and have never used it. It is a worry that I will miss choosing utf-8 one time and something on the site will screw up.
And if I am looking for the source of a problem, is there a way to check how the doc is saved? If I right click and select properties neither of those options ever appear for pages saved either way.
I suppose ANSI is something no one on earth uses but MS and they want to push it anyway? Don't mind me, just a bit grouchy this morning.

Edit: Sorry I thought I was still in the web design part of the forum and I was going to delete the whole post but it doesn't look like I can delete the thread title so guess I might as well leave it all up.
