UFC 151 Cancellation: Ridiculous to Blame Jones or Machida

I am baffled by Dana White's incredibly selfish, arrogant, and irrational blaming of Jon Jones, Lyoto Machida et al for the cancellation of UFC 151. The fighters opted out of taking on fights on short notice because they're not fools. They put themselves at huge physical risk in their fights. Training regimens depend on the opponents. To train intensely for one opponent's style than suddenly have to fight an opponent of a different style is disorienting and even dangerous.

You can't blame machida for UFC 151 cancellation, he wasn't asked to fight at 151, machida was asked to fight on that card instead he was asked to face jones at 152 where jones now fights Belfort.

As far as who's to blame I think it 3 men can share some blame.

Dan white for not having a strong enough card that can support the cancellation of the main event. Dan Henderson knew 2 weeks before that he was injured and should have told Dana then. Jon jones should have taken the fight with a 185lb chael sonnen who hadn't trained for the fight or fought at 205 for years.

To sum it up all 3 can lay claim to some sort of blame. Ultimately if jones had taken the fight the card would still have went ahead and he would have more than likely made short work of sonnen.

Wrong. Machida was asked to fight at 151. He said no. Chael called and said he would fight on 8 days notice and JBJ said no. Machida was then asked to fight jones at 152 in september. Machida said yes then later called dana and lorenzo and backed out. Then belfort called and thats where we are today.

Henderson is the sole one to blame. I love hendo and i hate jones but if hendo would have gave dana a heads up when it happend and not 8 days before the event we would still be having a ppv. Plain and simple.

    1. Your are a fighter. If you have had any expiernce in this industry the one thing you learn is the best opportunity comes on short notice. If you are confident in your skills a diffrent style shouldnt matter.

    2. Dana white is a promoter. His job is to sell fights. He is the best at what he does. If it wasnt for dana's skills we wouldnt even be talking about this right now.

    3. Jones should have took the fight. Hendo and chael are the same fighter minus hendos power. Chael would have been the easier fight plain and simple.

I agree with Perry when your a pro fighter you take short notices if you get the chance for the belt.
I don't cared for either of those 2 anyway wouldn't of ordered
Far as Chael I thought he was in different class? now i would of paid to see that He could prob beat Jones I think he is alot better then hendo
