It's one of those few days in my life where I remember exactly where I was and
exactly what I was doing and exactly what words were said to me when I
      found out.

May we never have another day like it again.

  • A September 11th Catastrophe You've Probably Never Heard About - Andrew Cohen - The Atlantic

On September 11, 1957, 55 years ago tomorrow, a national catastrophe was unfolding, one you likely have never heard about before. At the Rocky Flats nuclear weapons facility near Denver, inside the plutonium processing building, a fire had started in an area designed to be fireproof. Soon it was roaring over, through, and around the carefully constricted plutonium as one Cold-War-era safety feature after another failed. The roof of the building, the building itself, were threatened. And plumes of radioactive smoke went straight up into Colorado's late summer night air. High into the air, if you believe the witnesses...

I remember how It was all so very surreal.
I was away from my family that week at an engineering class
My kids were 11 and 9, they were scared that I was in a danger zone (tampa), I was nervous that the family was in a danger zone (kennedy Space centre).
Cell phone service was whacked due to the nationwide sweeps. when I finally got through,
Asked my wife,"do you want me to come home?" she said no, stay off the roads.
    Freaky, scary, surreal.
End of the innocence and the false sense of "security" America had.

I still remember it like it happened yesterday.

I was walking out of highschool (skipping class) & someone in the parking lot had the radio on as I walked past.

There was a group gathering to listen, so I decided to stick around & see what was going on.

Once I heard the news, I ran back inside the school. They had turned all of the TV's on so we could see what had happened.

I may not be religious, but god bless the men & women who died for no reason that day.

And god bless the men & women who put their own health & safety aside to rescue as many others as they could.

That was the day I stopped seeing blacks, whites, asians, etc.. And I started seeing one giant family - Americans.

However, I must admit that at the same time, I never looked at an Arab the same way after that.. (No offense to any LAW-ABIDING Arabs on here who don't hate Americans & want to kill us for no reason - The rest can burn in hell)

My thoughts about the issue will remain unwritten here. Suffice it to say that was the day the constitutional republic died, through it all though - there's a hell of a lot of heroes in this country. To each of them -- You Make Us Proud.

I knew one of the people that died. One co-worker also lost a best friend on one of the planes. I don't feel that any red blooded American should ever forget that terror attack.

This thread s/b the WarriorForum pick of the day!

The BoatLift story reveals superior character.

Did you notice how a common mission will bring every race, age, economic class and color TOGETHER? No forceful integration needed. No laws. Just decent people coming together willfully.

    How great was that!?

    NEVER FORGET!

I won't say too much, I wouldn't want to offend anyone even if you believe it was an inside job or not The heroes that tried to save people that day had nothing to with that.

So they will always and forever Remain Heroes.

Ask the question the other way arround: HOW did terrorists get the visa's? HOW did they hijack 3 planes so easily? More to the point: How did they flew in the MOST SAFE area of the world during 1 hour without getting intercepted?

[QUOTE=tagiscom;6961268]I have to admit that l am tired of conspiracy theory's around this!

Especially the tale about a holographic image of a plane, hitting the tower, coming from an invisible UFO, etc and a military plane hitting the towers, etc. >>

It's interesting that you pick out the single most outrageous 9/11 "conspiracy theory" -the one about the planes being holograms. The fact is, more and more researchers are questioning the official story, but the vast majority don't say anything about holograms.

This will be my only post in this thread, as I'm not going to get dragged into a debate about this. At the end of the day, neither side can prove its claims and I don't claim to be certain about it myself. But I'd suggest anyone who has even the slightest skepticism about the official story check out this site, which focuses on research done by architects and engineers:

Oh hell - he was serious about that? I thought he was just embellishing to make his point about concentrating here on thanking heroes and remembrance instead of the political stuff that would get this thread closed down.
Seriously - if that is the kind of stuff you are listening to, it's little wonder you think skeptics are fruitloops. Jeeez - some people need to get a grip. If Aliens have holgraphs they are shooting at us I think it's time for a Deep Purple concert alien style.

It's interesting to note that an organization called ae911truth.org has almost 1,700 members who are architects, structural engineers, and professors.

They really don't delve into the politics or the deeply emotional matters involved (that's not their area of expertise), but they ALL agree the explanation given in the official report as to why the buildings fell cannot be true.

They are united in the opinion that controlled implosions were used.

But, in any case, 9/11 was a very, very sad day filled with both innocent victims and courageous heroes. It's heart wrenching to think of how many families were destroyed that day.

Stuff like this reminds me of the movie Watchmen (2009). you had that guy who was supposed to be a hero create a major disaster in the world to bring it together. What if this disaster was planned and many innocent lives were lost in attempt to unite a nation? That would be crazy. 9/11.......I was in elementary school and too young to understand how major this day was. All I knew was something bad happend

Just got back from my "forum vacation" and I stand by my words..

(Even though the "vacation" had nothing to do with this thread, lol)

God bless America.. Even if we have some of the dumbest policies on the planet.

And if "God" does exist, I truly hope bin laden is suffering like hell right now..

    & sorry to hear Ken.
