It really is. The 401 is one of the deadliest highways in Ontario.

I wonder who captured this image. It's almost impossible to believe that those ducks made it across!

I think it must be 'Duck Miracle Week' on Wimp.com

It certainly was a miracle, Val!

I recall seeing the news coverage on Global. It was all I could do to not change the channel, for fear of an unhappy ending. Needless to say, I was quite relieved to see they all made it across safely.

    I like happy endings!

    There are hyenas in Toronto?

Edit: never mind. The second video doesn't mention the location.

I was watching them cross - crossing my fingers - and hoping they didn't forget something and have to go back for it:p

Knowing in advance that they all made it across ok let me laugh a little at how they got blown around when the big truck went by.

Was interesting watching them, it looked almost like mama was watching and timing the traffic...

As someone who travels the 401 on a regular basis, all I can say is that is a miracle!

They are lucky they are Canadian ducks. There's no way to survive crossing some American roads.

Well, the wounded duck routine is one all mother ducks seem to do. The predator is really more interested in the big meaty duck anyway, so even if the predator caught on, they would fall for it. And the ducks probably try to make sure they can get away from the predator.

As for the ducks crossing the road, WOW! One car misses them by maybe a couple inches at most, and they DO get blown around, but they all seem to make it. Now THAT is bravery! You really have to wonder why they want to get across SO bad! And even ADULTS seem to prefer walking!!!!!!! why don't they just FLY to the other side? Granted, HERE the young birds are probably too young, but ADULTS?

Glad they made it but could have avoided all of that mess if they had just decided NOT to follow the chicken :p
