During the war we used to play hopscotch in the minefield

Knock Knock Ginger was a favourite but you needed to run like the wind if some skinny, Mo Farah type guy with legs like an antelope answered.

Boy am I getting old! The first thing that came to my mind when I saw the title thread was "Cowboys and Indians". Hey, I was 21-years-old when Pong was released. There were no electronic games when I was a kid. "Cops and Robbers" was pretty good too as was "Ahley Ahley Oxen Free". Does anyone else know what I'm talking about?

LOL! I was thinking the same thing! "Take the Fort!, and "Simon Says!" - when they started saying "Mario" and other video games, I was like wth?

Hell, I know one of the guys who invented Pong!

I was an adult (chronologically) when it came out but hey...

Space Invaders. Close second, Ms. Packman

My actual childhood favorite was hide and seek.

Raising a child is akin to knowing you're getting fired in 18 years and having to train your replacement without actively sabotaging them.

LOL! I remember a friend of mine who was a video game developer and product engineer, was talking about "Dad's day" at his son's 3rd grade class...he started out his talk with:

"Who knows who the President of the United States is?"

        (a couple of hands...)

"Who knows how to get to the 4th level of Donkey Kong?"

        (99%)

Probably the Ding Dong Ditch, haha. It was real fun... Back then, we had real games, today.. I feel sorry for these kids, they don't know how to have real fun anymore, at least that's my opinion.

EDIT BY MODERATOR: Why does your location say "Chicago" when your IP is in Romania?
I'm staying in Romania for a while but I'm from Chicago, is there a problem?

Great game, we called it Ding Dong Ditch (my stepfather said that in Lousiana when he was growing up they called it n***er knocking. Yeah, I don't like my stepfather much). Not just a childhood game though. When I got a chance to hang out with my brother and sister over Christmas break we figured we'd play again like the old days.

So now that my brother and his little friend are 17 instead of twelve and can actually run a bit, we're hitting every house and feeling like badasses. We decide to end the night by getting the President of the HA because he's a major dick and because we're dumb. So we send Jimmy (my brother) up to the house and hide behind a car recording him on a phone. He gets up to the garage and suddenly a light comes on with a booming voice saying "YOU ARE NOW BEING RECORDED". F***er had a camera. It was automated, but in that moment of sheer panic you don't think about it.

I wish someone was timing me because I think I ran 40 yards in an NFL worthy time after that. We got away and spent the rest of the night eating fudge and playing hide and seek in a pitch black house.

TL;DR: No, I have not grown up yet.

Well, some of us are a generation below, and grew up on the PS1 greats like Spyro .

She kept those puppies well concealed and under lock and key until my junior year. However, we don't tell that story. My buddy still gets violent about it and this post may come up if he ever googles my name.

When I was a little kid we played "board games" like Life and Monopoly.

The biggest game company wasn't Nintendo -- it was Milton Bradley!
