Aye, I saw that in The Guardian yesterday.

£300 million? Pffft they can keep it for that kind of money. You'd have to pay me that to live in the centre of London. No way. Yrrr'ack!

Me? Id rather stay right here where I am on the magical Isle of Skye where the scenery is out of this world stunningly beautiful.

Where I am at the moment - home sweet home and all for less than $10 a day...

Why do garden gnomes smell so bad?
So that blind people can hate them as well.

OK, outside of the fact that the outside looks lousy, and there isn't much land, and it looks like a low class hotel, what is wrong with it? It says it is rumored to have millions of pounds of gold leaf. ONE million is equal to about: $27,200,000,000 So they are saying that they are selling at a LOSS! YEAH, I doubt it is millions! What else isn't true?

I think you read that wrong, Steve. It says "... millions of pounds worth ...", with pounds referring to the British currency - not the unit of weight.

It looks like a very boring hotel. Yes, you may have loads of luxuries inside but if you live in a prison....oops.... palace like that, you would have so many problems that it wouldn't be worth it.

No wonder the sheiks live in those places. One bedroom per wife.
    Less arguments.

  • This looks like the same house the rich guy bought for his wife down the street from his own mansion, so they could 'be close', but not exactly have to 'live together'...and then she said she "didn't like it"...or was that in New York...and not London...?

These rich billionaire @#$%&s are getting harder and harder to keep track of...

About that doorbell...is it the kind where you can play "Dixie", "La Cucaracha" and "Beer-barrel Polka"? - 'cause if you're going to spend that much money on a real classy joint, they really ought to throw in one of those...

EDIT BY MODERATOR: Why does your location say "Chicago" when your IP is in Romania?
I'm staying in Romania for a while but I'm from Chicago, is there a problem?

If I had $500,000,000 I'd want more than a house. I'd want to buy an entire country for that.

Whoever buys it will probably only use it 2-3 weeks a year. It is the servants who will really enjoy the house.

I remember visiting the mansion of Saudi Arabia's ambassador to a country I won't mention. It was impressive, lol. They had numerous dining rooms and different floors all in different styles including one with stone walls made to look Medieval or something, bathrooms with fully functioning water fountains in the middle to entertain you while you're taking a dump, etc etc etc. Pretty absurd...

That one pushed me to the limits of my imagination.

I can't imagine why anyone would want that house. I can't imagine that much money for a house without hundreds of acres of land around it.

Mansion for sale? What a great opportunity!

Call up the real estate agent and set up a showing. Have a friend with a camera arrive first to film you pulling up in a rented sportscar.

Step out and, while you're walking to "your" door, say "Welcome to my humble abode. I'm about to reveal to you a stupid-simple money-making strategy that will put tens of thousands of dollars in your wallet every month..."

You've now got your intro video for the next "I'm pretending to be a millionaire to sell you some e-book even though a real millionaire wouldn't waste his time" infoproduct

I've seen better mansions that would perhaps cost much less in the heart of the country surrounded by trees, rivers and all things nature.

That place is right on the pavevent and just looks like a formal hotel.

The most expensive mansion in my area puts that one to shame. Stables, lots of beautiful land, and I think it did have tennis courts and a pool. And it WAS beautiful. It sold for a bit over $20Million USD. OH, and a nice area. It is also in a nice city, and even 3 major hospitals, including at least 1 that is one of the best in the country.

SURE it doesn't have quite as much internal space. It probably doesn't have gold leaf. I don't know if it even has elevators. It probably doesn't. but WHO NEEDS THEM!?!?!?

If everybody on the WF kicked in £100/$170approx then we'd be able to buy it and use it as a Marketers Mansion... Who's in?

The ongoing property taxes on that building are more than most peoples' total income.
