Do You Like Work?

People always talk how they need to look at nice houses and cars often to be motivated to work. I guess if you need to do that, then business isn't for you?

Personally, I don't have a problem working. Checking my emails is the first and one of the last things I do in my day. 12+ hour work days isn't upsetting. If there's that much work, that means the money is flowing. If there's no work, that's where it gets disappointing.

So, do you need to stare at a Bentley all day to keep working?

  • Do you like work? Not really. I don't hate it but I don't exactly
    have fun doing it either. At any rate, this work (internet marketing)
    is certainly much better for me than any other work.
  • Depends on what work I'm doing. Housework? I hate it - but do it because I am comfortable in a clean home. Writing - yeah I like it. Gem hunting? Love it - would do it 24/7 if I could - and if I keep writing, I might be able to sooner or later. Work in a factory or office - on a consultant basis fine, daily 8 to 5? I think I'd have a meltdown.
  • I liked where I worked for 35 years for the government and at 54 retired and drawing a pension from them I love it even more now but not a whole lot of people can say that they like their job in my area as you need 2-3 p/t jobs to make ends meet as that is the way it is in a tourist town where property and business taxes and hydro costs have shut down industries here.

    Not really. If I won a few million on the lotto this weekend i could quite easily retire the rest of my life..:-)

  • Some people use objects, visualization of living in abundance or greater figures representing their bank balance for the sake of driving themselves to better circumstances (or so they envisage).

    I'd say it's common for people to have these goals in their mind, hence why it's a staple of every success / business orientated NLP method.

    What defines a person as being good at business is their results, not the motivational methods they use to obtain those results.

    • Visualizing the house you want doesn't help you attain that house unless you can visualize equally well what you need to do to get it, does it? LOL. I don't get people who visualize homes and cars instead of the plans for the business that will take them there.

  • If you don't enjoy your job, I don't believe any nice house or car will really make it all worth it
