Yep, you got the second two... but that first one?

A little bit more modern, but still 21 years old now. Dare I say it but some consider it to be the best rock album of all time.

      Yeah.

Re #8 - I doubt it very much but I guess it's possible that there was different artwork for the US release, but it's such an iconic image I'm pretty sure it'd be the same.

      THANK YOU.

I could see the thing. Couldn't fetch the name, or even enough of a clue to cheat. It really wasn't one I'd have thought of, most likely. The image always stuck with me, but the music was just more Zeppelin. If you'd said the album title first, I probably wouldn't have connected it to the visual.

That is how it was for me and the first one, the Nirvana one.
I know Generation X ( and others) think its the greatest stuff out there, but to me it was just another grunge album.

Actually, I can see you being a ZZ Top fan, but I'm not surprised about U2.

And The Joshua Tree album, the one that made U2 the huge stars they are(were?) is the one I left them at. But Boy ( The name of their first album) was awesome when it came out.A totally different sound for the times.

      Kim,
Paul, you're not much of a rock person are you?
Depends on the band. Southern rock, hell yeah. ZZ Top? Marshall Tucker, Lynyrd Skynyrd... All over it. Punk, too, although a limited selection. Tull is up there, along with some Pink Floyd. Stray Cats, the Stones, and the Ramones, definitely. Most rock, in fact. Just spotty coverage.

There is very little music I don't enjoy, if it's well done. Death metal, thrash, and some of the nastier rap lyrics covers most of that.

I used to kick serious ass at country music trivia at a bar I used to go to. The only one in the place who could keep up was a friend's wife. When we started correcting each other on the lyrics of Carter Family songs, the rest just gave up.

          Rookies...These are too easy.

          Even with the horrible artwork.

All kidding aside, a couple had me stumped for a while.

I'd come up with one, showing the actual album cover and I doubt anybody
would get it. That's of course if I can even find a scan of the cover online.
More likely than not, I'd have to scan the darn thing myself.

And I ain't searching through thousands of records.

Okay, I'm gonna stop before I laugh myself into a stupor. If I find the album

My daughter just went to see him in concert with her boyfriend's mother.
But I was going to ask if country rap wasn't an oxymoron.

I never would have gotten the answer for you though.

Though I guess I was really off, Wet Willie was more country/Rock, in the vein of Marshall Tucker and the likes. (Capricorn Sound) Here is a song I like by them:
Keep On Smiling (which is my view of life, though it doesn't come across at times)
    Have a great night everyone.

    Edit:
I made a thread long ago about the beginnings of country and Kurt tried to tell me the Carter Family wasn't country, they were Hillbilly, but of course I disagreed. If anything I'd say they were both.

The Colt Ford one seems a bit contrived. The JMM parts are as good as you'd expect, though.

Gangstagrass is just a mix. I'll take either, but not together like that. Doesn't suck, just not something I'd listen to.

Wet Willie, "Keep on Smilin'." Okay. Yeah. That one I know. Thanks.

The Carter Family could be called country or hillbilly. At that time, there wasn't a huge difference. They both had serious blues influences, but with more strings. AP Carter and Hank Sr had a lot of vocal qualities in common, and not much of Hank's ouevre is considered hillbilly. That may just be out of fear of his fans, though.

Maybelle is possibly the only human being to have ever successfully played the autoharp. (I have an old one here that I got at an auction, and it's intimidating just to look at all those strings.)
