Poetry on demand

Hello,

First, as I am Canadian, I would like to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Next, I would like to market my services as a poet. I can write a poem on just about any topic in a very short amount of time. This service would most benefit those who want to have the personal touch when giving greeting cards for any and all occasions.

I would be most appreciative if someone could advise me as to where best to market my services, how much to charge, if I should charge per poem, per word count, how best to market my services, etc. This is my first time on Warrior and would be very grateful for any and all advice.

Thank you and have a wonderful weekend.

  • Hi DC Poet

I'd hate to rain on your party bro but it's not Thanksgiving.

Anyways, you should market your services everywhere. Try to find poetry forums and have a signature link there too!

    • Na - ya might want to stick with the forums it's okay to advertise in - this isn't one of em. Put a link to your site in your sig file. There's a warrior's for hire forum - but don't do it in here because we'll fry you.

As far as charge - whatever you can get.

Can you do raps as well?
  • Hey- it's not even Halloween yet! But happy Thanksgiving to you!
  • Canadian thanksgiving and American thanksgiving are not at the same time.

Anyway, try fiverr or warriors for hire to market yourself. Though I recommend guest blogging and writing real books instead. Or offline clients who need poems or songs.
  • Thank you all for some really helpful suggestions, many of which I will seriously look into. I'm sure the thanksgiving in England on July 1st is the U.S.'s independence day, thus their from England, meant as a joke. I got it, and thanks for the gaffaw. May you all have much for which to be thankful, as do I. Again, thanks.

  • Im going to give you a golden idea here:

Write a book of poetic wedding vows (Specialize in a niche).

Study the wedding market, offer something unique to it.

Go to a place where the competition is not, and there is a demand...for unique wedding ideas (as an example), and where people spend money.

Make a book of wedding vows set to poetry...and sell it in the bridal market, or wedding market.

Start a trend, and carve a path where there was none.

    Thats my advice.

This is an idea I would do myself, but a man can only afford to have one mistress, and I already have ten.

    • Wow. That's good.

Bridal market is good, too. If you could target the bride for the product that she wants the groom to have... a book for couples with a section for her and one for him, or a two-book deal... or just writing it for a man with directions to the bride on how to use the "give as gift" button for the Kindle version

...the chicken soup for the soul series (Poetic Wedding Vows for Her, for Him, for 2nd Weddings, wedding vows for Christians, same sex vows, Vows to make you smile, most romantic vows, renewing your vows, vows that say "I probably would have eventually married you even if you weren't pregnant," etc)
