Hi warriors,

Start with me, my longest ride is 11 hours on August 2012 from Ople to Munich (Germany), we took the autobahn (no speed limit highway) but unfortunately we still arrive late.

We (me and my friends) stop by many coffeeshops along the highway to chill, grab a bit, take pictures etc that's why we took so long. It was a phenomenal journey nonetheless. The scenery is beautiful, amazing people and nice whether (summer).

Please share your longest ride with us:

1) How long was your ride?
2) Where to Where?
3) When was the journey?
4) Did you enjoy the ride?
5) With who?
6) What vehicle did you take?
7) Anything...

looking forward to your experience

Well, as we entered Belguim, we hit a really insane rain, so the speed went from 120-130 km/h to 30 with disaster blink on. I think we had a 30 meter view, it was really horrible.

I've driven from San Diego to the Baltimore area and back a few times. About 2700 miles each way.

Once, I flew from Orange County CA to Baltimore, picked up my truck and was back in San Diego within 48 hours...Only got one speeding ticket.

I've driven from the West coast to the East coast (WA to NY). Just my best pal (dog) and I. It was incredibly fun. We stopped many places along the way to have a quick go at the native gemstones of the area. I wanna do it again.

Does a camping trip count? If so, it would be a 2-month trip from Eastern Ontario to New Orleans through Texas/New Mexico/Arizona to California, and north along the coastal route 1 to Washington - a ferry across to Vancouver Island - another ferry across to the mainland, through southern B.C. to Banff Alberta. That was 1991, in a Dodge Caravan.

With me was my sister, brother-in-law, and their nasty little Pekingese dog that relished climbing onto the table and eating my dinner when my back was turned.

If not, there was a bus trip from Banff Alberta to Ontario that took 3 days. This was after I abandoned the camping trip in 1991.

In England, I took the train from London to Aberdeen Scotland. Can't recall how long it took. Maybe there's a Brit here who can tell us. Again, I traveled alone. This was in 1969.

Then, there was the road trip from Ontario to Florida that took 3 days. This was with my parents for a week's holiday. I think my father was driving a Buick at the time. If I recall, it was in the mid-1970s.

Another trip was from Prescott, Ontario to New York City that took about 10-11 hours. Went alone in my 1988 Mercury Topaz when it was new. I loved that car! What a trip.

Then there was the return trip from New York, across to New Jersey where I took a shot of the twin towers, then along the Susquehanna River in Pennsylvania, up into New York State and across to Ontario. This was about another 3-5 days. Again, I went alone. I believe this was around 1990-91.

In all cases, except the camping and family trips, I was meeting someone at the other end: relatives in England, a group of Revolutionary War re-enactors in the U.S.

Did I enjoy these rides? Absolutely. Except the last half of the trip with my sister. She was fine when we started, but over the course of the trip, she became a tad too tense about my driving skills and my independence. So I switched to the bus which I would have enjoyed much more if some portions of the ride had been in daylight. Especially, going across the top of Lake Superior which, according to the driver, offers some spectacular sights.
