  • I like that guy who writes about Nantucket a lot...I can't think of his name, but they all start:

There once was a girl from Nantucket...
    -or-
There once was a man from Nantucket...

Why, he's probably even more famous than Carl Sandburg...

At the moment it is Dr. Seuss.

I find it awesome that he can tell a complete story all in rhyme. It's a fun thing to read to the grand-kiddies too.

As a matter of fact, I found them such fun, I recently have written two short stories for them Dr. Seuss style.

    Antigonish - Hughes Mearns

    Yesterday, upon the stair,
    I met a man who wasn't there
    He wasn't there again today
    I wish, I wish he'd go away...

When I came home last night at three
The man was waiting there for me
But when I looked around the hall
I couldn't see him there at all!
Go away, go away, don't you come back any more!
Go away, go away, and please don't slam the door... (slam!)

Last night I saw upon the stair
A little man who wasn't there
    He wasn't there again today
Oh, how I wish he'd go away

There was a young man named Thor
He nailed his kids to the floor
    He then stuck a knife
through the heart of his wife
And said "hope the neighbors aren't sore.

    UM.........me, I guess.

A certain young gal once begat
Three sons named Nit, Nat and Tat
"It was fun in the breeding
    But hell in the feeding"
'Cause she didn't have a tit for Tat.

    Robert Frost...

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
    To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I marked the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
    Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
