I got caught earlier by it, had to shut down the browser and lost 2 hours of work.

    Definitely not impressed.

Yeah, I know...the guy is a total moron and should be banned from this
      forum IMHO.

He's just lucky this isn't MY home.

Unfortunately, I don't remember who it was.

Okay - I'm concerned who we've got in here now. I have clicked on threads a few times in the past few days and ended up shutting my computer down.......thought it was my computer, but seeing this post and thinking back this has only happened in the WF.

Note the name of the guy posting it, and be careful about any of their threads - this seems to be more than April Fools.

I just searched for his profile, Steve -- wanted to see if I remembered being stuck any any threads relevant to this guy. It appears his account is no longer here. Go figure.

Of course it's not longer here. This is no different from somebody attacking
      your PC with a virus.

Thank goodness the trash has been tossed in the dumpster.

That is true - but sometimes accounts just get locked while further investigation goes on and I was hoping to be able to retrieve enough info to remember who all might have been associated with this character.

I've already decided not to click on any links of anyone I don't know-based on an earlier thread that was nuked. Since I didn't know the guy I'd never click on any link of his.

Pretty soon, you're going to start to have to give references for ppl to click on your links

I don't think you have be that cautious. The vast majority of people are good honest people. I've clicked on plenty of people's links and I've never had one single problem. No point being paranoid. I definitely agree that this time it's simply not acceptable though. Messing with people's computers is out of order. (Thanks for the warning Steven.)

*rolls eyes* Welcome to 2007, people, where Rick Astley's career takess off once again because people are still using Microsucks Internet hey-we've-got-multimedia-on-the-information-superhighway Explorer.
I'll be over here in 2009, using browsers that give me some degree of control, like Firefox variants or Chrome.

However, if you like being anachronisms, you can always modify your host file.
I mean, that security measure has only being working infallibly since 1995...

Jesus, I've been going on for over a year about basic securitymeasures and you guys pay zero attention to it. It's like I'm talking to people that secretly want to see that stuff.
Get Firefox and NoScript... it doesn't get F-ing easier than that!

Guess that was a 'slip of the keyboard' from Harvey.

The other account appears to me to be HarveyJ and it's banned.
