For those of you who went through hurricane Sandy;

What lessons did you learn?

What would you do differently next time?

What issues came up that you didn't think about?

Anything else?

I appreciate the insights.

    I learned to never live at or below sea level. Actually I already knew that was a bad idea.

    I'm approx. 530ft. above sea level (good enough for me).

      After Sandy left I knew that trusting her with my bank card was not my best idea ever.

    I was never in a hurricane but watched these two closely and what I learned is to run like hell if I saw any fema guys coming my way.

    Hello,
    I live on Long Island and I have seen some of the devastation and chaos that is still going on.
    I would have some gas stored in a safe place next time to make sure that you can get away safely.
    I would have had more candles and batteries and flashlights and more of everything just in case.
