Sometimes, when I feel melancholy, I write a poem about something that gets my attention in life, whether a news event, politics or whatever. Today, I have turned my attention to something many of us have come realize that we have taken for granted in life. It makes me wonder what is the next thing that may disappear from our lives. So, on this day of Thanksgiving, look around you and appreciate your family, friends, food, fat bank account, latest toy, or other worldly things. You never know. Sometimes, the most insignificant thing today may not be there tomorrow!

Ode To A Twinkie
When oft I feel I am ignored
And never got attention
I only look upon a shelf
And see a lonely Twinkie
The treat has been there all
My life and always took for granted
But now its gone and suddenly
It has become so dear
That folks are searching high
And low when it was always near
The Twinkie is a friend indeed
When no one else is there
The Ding Dongs and the Ho Hos
His buddies til the end
They were a part of all our lives
So much we didn't know
That there would come a day
When they would all be gone
What will we do when all
Remains but memories
When oft I feel I am
Ignored. I realize
I ode it to a Twinkie
Ode To A Twinkie

And never got attention
I only look upon a shelf
And see a lonely Twinkie
The treat has been there all

When oft I feel I am
Ignored. I realize
I ode it to a Twinkie
