  • I hope it's in this season's colours ...
  • That's very thoughtful of you Doug. It will be nice to wear while I sit at the computer working or at the camp fire on chilly evenings. Um..........I don't have to wear it in public do I?

Impressive. How long did that take you?
  • Keep it. I'll autograph it for you so you can sell it for $$$. (More likely, $.xx)

I'm fine with my "Frank Donovan: Old Skool Marketer" hoodie. I always wear it with my "Joe Robinson: Munchin' on Brontosaurus Legs" T-Shirt. Let me tell you, that combo pulls dimes wherever I go.

Edit: Wow, now there's an uber small niche clothing company idea...

    • But did you spring for the "Kurt: Survivalist" Anorak upsell or the "HeySal: Kickin' It" Moon Boots OTO?

It's the outfit all trendy OTers are sporting this season.

  • @David -- Yes, very breathable material for the summer down under

@Sal -- Yes, makes a lovely chilly autumn campfire companion best when worn drinking hot chocolate unless of course you don't like chocolate and then in that case can substitute with your favorite warm drink (can keep it a secret from the public)

@Terra -- Yes, and even if there was another Terra as special to you, you'd want to keep yours to yourself

@Daniel -- Your story has touched my heart. Consider it discussed.

    @Yukon -- Renaissance man

@Frank -- 0 to 60 in 3 seconds (but seriously considering shipping next time to cut fuel expense)

@Dan -- Good idea and no doubt

The truth of the story though is I had one too many "twisted teas" last night and doing my best impression of my late adopted grandmother got in character too intensely and created the thread before returning which is why it is in quotes.

I will neither confirm nor deny that I told the girl at the store I had knitted a shawl with her name on it too while purchasing yet another twisted tea. Still in character and everything.

I had actually forgotten about it until I saw it was on the screen when I awoke after sleeping with my laptop.

So the next thought was how to remedy the situation, you know make the best of the situation now that the thread was posted and had responses, the point of no return.

The best I have come up with so far is to hire a designer to create a graphic of a shawl with "YOUR Name" on it and then choose the most appropriate context to post the image as a response to _______ in high traffic forums, creating a meme.

That's the best I could come up with so far.

If there is enough demand, I will record myself doing the impression and encourage others to tell people the same (must use the same voice though or it doesn't have quite the same effect). If only Andy Kaufman were still around...he would know how to do it perfectly and yet I prefer to do my own stunts with no compromise or middle ground on that particular issue when it comes down to it.

It will require "stepping out of my comfort zone" in order to record the stunt but should be good for a splorf if it goes as planned.

    • I don't recall telling a story, let alone a heart touching one but this twisted tea has me curious!
  • What do you need Doug ?
  • @Daniel -- Yes, I know what you mean. Same thing happened to me. Next thing I knew, the "I have knitted a shawl with YOUR name on it" had been born.

@Dee -- You have always been most conscientious Dee and that is what I call true dedication to client satisfaction. I'm thinking just a good basic shawl image with the words, "YOUR name" on it or maybe even something like {!Your_Name} to keep with the internet marketing flavor. That way it will be like an inside thing once it catches on mainstream.
