ALBANY, N.Y. - A video recording from a group of activists has gone viral showing a disagreement over handing out informational flyers at Albany International Airport. |
The video, posted by online activist group InfoWars.com, shows two young people attempting to hand out informational flyers on passengers rights to opt-out of TSA scanners, and being stopped by Albany Airport Official Doug Myers in the process. They were told they needed special permission and a one million dollar insurance policy.
Myers called in the Albany County Sheriff's Office for what he thought was going to be help in removing the young male and female from the airport, however when Deputy Stan Lenic arrived he defended the activits' First Amendment rights saying they were not doing anything illegal and could continue to hand out the flyers.
Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple responded to the actions of the deputy in the video, telling NEWS10 "It's nice to get positive comments, to see on the video that he did what he was trained to do. He was professional, he relayed proper information and he protected their rights. And that's what we are supposed to do."
