This is the DUMBEST thing I've seen in a forum!!

As a new member, I must have 30 posts before I can reply to a thread - and 15 posts before I can PM another member???

WHAT????

So I have to create 30 original threads before I can participate in any way on this forum??

That's insane! I understand it's probably meant to be some guard against spamming the forum, but it's actually a great way to curtail new member participation.

Answer me this: I just purchased a WSO and did not receive the download link. Member email not available on receipt or member profile. With the restrictions placed on me as a new member, how can I contact the member to let them know of my dilemma?

You sure don't need posts to be able to post any posts. If you did, that would be ridiculous. Asked for the download link, contact the owner of the WSO.you can send them an e-mail message or try to contact them through a messenger. Just go to their profile, and you'll see they're available on a messenger.

Yes, you do need posts before you can post in WSO area. I had a few buyers with not enough post count and they were unable to go in.

What is not good about it in the WSO area is people may have legit questions they want to ask before buying - or the other issue is they may need to pm the person holding the WSO.

Anyway, I just found all this out - and next WSO will be posted in a manner where people can comment somewhere like a blog or something off site and with a personal email provided to people somewhere as well.

(Your post is misleading, but I think i interoperate it correctly.)

I am a new member, Its likely that new members will create new topics instead of searching the forum. Therefore in my opinion the rule is great for reducing the amount of spam and duplicate topics on the forum.

It sure is annoying at times, id agree.

Yes, I agreed with you. Many people faced the same dilemma as you. I would think these people will end up posting "non quality" postings for example "Thanks", "I agreed with ..." as replies... just to chalk up the # of posts.

Yes, they can just increase the number of posts that way, but people look for VALUE in posts. Just try and add value in whatever way you can and you can't go wrong!

No, the 30 posts limit is only for the WSO forum as far as I know, and it might be inconvenient at times but there's a really good reason for it. To put it simply, it prevents fraud. Without that limit, what's to stop someone from posting a WSO, then making a dozen or so new accounts to post fake testimonials and/or keep their WSO bumped up to the top of the first page?

Uh, hi. So glad you were able to join us. Sorry if you got ripped on a WSO first time out of the box - let's hope someone will help you work it out.

After such a - ummm, emphatic shall we say? - first post, I hope you come to appreciate the usually more supportive approach the majority of Warriors provide.

BTW, you not only have "replied" to a thread... you "started" one with your very first posting.

Precisely why there is a help desk - have you tried that yet? That is what it is there for. Usually there is an email address given with the purchase, but the help desk can sort out the problem if there is not.

Sorry if you don't like the rules, but there is a reason for them and no matter what the inconvenience, they work.

Perhaps rather than ranting about the "stupidity" of the forum you should learn how to work within the rules. WSO - is Warrior Special Offers - not Special Offers For Anyone Who Wants To Sign On Just To Get The Specials forum. If you can't operate in the WSO forum before your amount of posts, perhaps you should put off buying from that forum until you have the correct amount of interaction here instead of coming in and insulting the whole forum.

You've been a memebr since November. Ample time to have made 30 posts, yet your first one is to call the rules here dumb?

I understand your frustration, but you ARE allowes to participate in this forum - in fact, you just did by making this post.

It's nobody's fault that you've only made one post in 5 months. (EDIT: I now see it's at least 3 posts). Hang in there.

The 30 post rule is only for the WSO section of the forum.

Anyway, like I said, hang in there. Looking forward to your future contributions to the forum. Hopefully you can work things out in regards to whatever WSO issue you are having.

Very simple - I PM'd kate with the link to this thread - she should be replying when she's here today

The reason you need 30 posts to post in the WSO section is to keep new members from making the dumb, irrelevant posts they were making there.

It doesn't say anywhere that you must start 30 threads - the rules say 30 posts to participate in WSO's. That is to prevent people from jumping into the WF only to sell to members here.

With the number of threads and topics here, it shouldn't be a problem to answer or give an opinion on the subject occasionally.

If you had put "need to contact KateD" in your subject line, that would have worked.

Spend more time here and it'll be clear why those rules exist. This place gets plenty of spam as it is, and those rules only slow it down. You'll notice quite a lot of people posting one word, useless posts to get their post counts up so they can post in the WSO section.

The 30 post minimum is, I believe, a side effect of the rule that you have to have 30 posts to post a WSO - since you no longer need approval, this ends meaning you can't post at all without 30 posts. Which is a problem.

That said, the WSO forum is not nearly as useful as it once was.

As you probably just realized, this post has been moved to the Off-Topic forum. All 13 of your posts don't count, which is why it now shows a post count of 0.

No big deal, go find a few threads in the main forum that you can contribute to.

Also, even 15 posts a day is a lot and will put you under the srutiny of some members here.

Just add value to discussions where you can, and before you know it, you'll be up to 30 posts.

Come on - you've been a member for four months - you couldn't find any threads you could contribute something useful to?

The WF has been flooded recently with people joining and then complaining about having to actually contribute something here to be able to use all the features - or to play games with "just posting to up my post count".

Some get reset when they do that - some get banned. Some get over it and start building a rep here.

Posts in the Off Topic Asylum do not count as posts in the rest of the forum. So looks like you will need to go to the many other forums and start posting so that you can get your post count up.

Again this rule is not to be mean but to protect the forum from spammers, serial posters and trolls - they considerably degrade the atmosphere everywhere they are.

By the way welcome to the Warrior Forum and I am glad to see that you got a taste of the real Warrior spirit with the people helping and especially that the WSO Warrior responded and straightened out your problem.

I honestly don't know what you mean about "so many restrictions". The only restriction is to provide some value here by helping to answer questions, etc.

The WF is a high profile, valuable forum. We are guests on Allen's forum - so it makes sense to respect the rules. Those rules weed out people who join with the attitude of "it's all about me and what I want" and protects the rest of us.

It's a give and take - and you have to give before you take.

The restriction of posting in the WSO forum is rather new - and it was necessary because of the number of new people making derogatory comments or asking downright stupid questions in WSO threads. The sellers pay to list there and deserve to be able to answer valid questions without being inundated with troll posts - and that's what was happening.

Hope that explains the "restrictions" in a way that makes sense.

The only restriction there is a lack of knowledge.

hmm. Without meaning to be rude, you have had 4 months to contribute. Then you come here, complain that you CAN'T contribute (which you CAN), you complain that we are not newbie friendly, when it is obvious you have not even TRIED, and then you try to insult us.

Y'Know, maybe this forum is not for you...

It seems to me the OP is more interested in complaining than resolving problems.
I'm with all those that have pointed out that the OP has been a member for several months yet not made any useful posts.
If it said you must make 500 posts,or even 100 posts,I could see frustration with the rules, but gee golly, its Fifteen .Sheesh.

It's not hard to get to 30 posts. It really isn't. You haven't had anything to say in the months you've been here until now? Post count still 0. Might wanna try one of the other topics.

Step #1: Make yourself a brand new tinfoil hat.........

Step #2: Post in the test forum. They don't count there
either but at least we don't have to read your
    pathetic whining.

When you hear someone telling you what YOU can't do, they are usually talking about what THEY can't do.

At least 2 say you are done here, but apparently your not.

Lady ... this is the OFF TOPIC Forum ... where we lay shit
on people and joke and generally kickback to forget all the
        bullshit that goes on ...

... you want some cheese with that whine?

You still have NO posts to your name ...

Yup .. this is the DUMBEST thing I`ve seen on a forum.

The rules are fine tho ...

You might wanna try posting in the very top forum-the Making Money forum. Your posts count there. The 30 rules posts protects us from spammers so it's a good rule. There's a reason for it, it wasn't made to annoy ppl.
