Shopping for next Christmas at the post Xmas sales!

Seriously, people do this crazy type of sh*t! I can't effectively plan more than one week in advance. How do you know if next year's Yule will have the same gift trends etc. People can be very fussy.
Still, with the Mayan prediction of the world ending on Dec. 21, I guess this is all just a moot point.

I guess it makes sense to buy presents at post Christmas sales, but I am definitely not this organised lol I much prefer the system I have in place right now, which is to buy presents a couple of days beforehand haha

I buy at the post-Christmas sales but not for the following Christmas. I look for things that aren't specific to Christmas that I can use for birthdays and other things. I have several birthdays in the first four months of the year.

The key is not to buy for specific people. Buy things that most people like, such as candles, bath products, etc.

Naturally it takes a woman to explain the inner workings of shopping sales and how to use them effectively.

Ah, Terra, I never should have read your response while eating a pretzel. Almost choked when I started laughing!

I see people loading up with decorations, wrapping paper, cards, fancy boxes, fake snow, stencils etc, etc. Even as a 'clueless' man I still think this type of purchasing is kinda lame.

What is lame about buying the supplies you'll need next year at 75% to 90% off? Last year, I went and bought a bunch of gift boxes (plain white) at 90% off and that's what I've used to wrap gifts in all year long. I loathe spending on packaging and woukld rather save my money for the actual gift.

Decorations, cards and wrapping paper will be just as good next season - and you can buy them right after Christmas for 50-75% OFF. How would that not be a smart thing to do?

I've often purchased fancy/expensive holiday decorations cheaply after Christmas to use for early gifts next year. One of a friend's favorites is a 4-5 ft tall outdoor decoration that is a black bear in Christmas garb that wraps paws around the column on her porch. She thinks I was so generous. She knows the bear was over $300 last year - doesn't know I paid about $40 for it after the holiday. I'm happy - she's happy - bear is happy. What's not to like?

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

Some marketers have been planning numerous such post-apocalyptic sales for decades to fussy shoppers.
