Does this sound familiar?

A lot can happen in two years, Joe, but yes. it is very familiar!! I like Jay, Jimmy, and Conan. They all have their places in my humor need <3.

What were they expecting with this. It reminds me of a WWE skit... lol
Conan O'Brien would take over for Leno in 2009. He did, briefly, only to suffer meager ratings -- possibly due in part to the network's scheduling of the prime-time "Jay Leno Show" at 10 p.m. that fall -- and one of the uglier showbiz exits in recent memory.

  • I have the perfect replacement host for the Tonite Show...

    Gilbert Gottfried :p

If you're going to go down in flames, NBC...you may as well make it a total disaster...

Or like the joke Louis CK was doing on his show...actually give it to Louie!
(David Lynch not included in this deal)

Can they just run Johnny Carson reruns for the next 30 years?

They might do better. At least Johnny had the confidence to have a guest host do his show if he was not going to be on - he knew he was the king, but allowing others to see what it was like was refreshing, and sometimes a disaster...but it made things interesting from time to time -

And at least when the did show reruns they were 'classics', and not some pointless rerun from just a few weeks ago...

Jay and Dave both got their shots that way (Rivers too, disastrously)- but they don't give the desk away like Carson. (Letterman had Bruce Willis fill in while he was in the hospital, but I don't think he was too worried Bruce would give up his current gig to host a talk show...:p)

Jay lost it after the show swap and never got "it" back (if he ever had it) - it's well known he doesn't need the money and has a lot of other things to do, I wonder what keeps him tied to the show -

Fallon isn't ready. Let him leave if need be.

I'm skeptical myself. Fallon is a highly talented witty entertainer but is it good for him to be jumping into a different template, so to speak?

I like Jimmy Fallon, but in a talk-show setting, he seems slightly uncomfortable/unsure of himself. From my point of view anyway...

I mean as a performer. As a producer, I have no idea. I don't even have a TV.
