I just got a call from some jerk saying they were from "wnpostions". Supposedly, I had filled out a questionare saying I was looking. The guy took SO long to answer me that I felt he was either on the MOON, or a computer program. I let him ask a few questions AND, when he asked for my birthdate, right down to the day, I said "can't say". He got very insistent. At one point he said it wouldn't be shared with anyone, etc... I said "OH, I know that!". He waited a couple more minutes, and said they needed it to match me up with a job, etc...

WOW, what job would require it down to the DAY? I checked them out, and "World neighbors"(WN for short) which now has "positions" open says they have called the FTC, because they are NOT WNPositions. Other people have had problems ALSO.

WATCH IT!

There are all kinds of scams going on right now. Just today I got phishing emails purporting to be from two banks, a retailer, and two delivery services. None of the links in them pointed to the site they said it did.

I've pulled a few stunts of a similar nature. I always give them a chance to get off the line without a hassle first, but sometimes when the mood strikes and they keep pushing, I'll play them.

Once when a Kirby rep called trying to offer a free room shampoo I asked him if it would get out blood.

        Blood?

Yeah, it's everywhere. It's easier to clean when it's fresh. Can you come over right away.

lol - The guy said he'd have to check with his supervisor and would call back. Of course, he never did. I was expecting the police to come over but I never heard from them either.

Funny thing is, after calling us 2-3 times a month before that prank, they never called back afterwards.

If I'm not insanely busy, I'll always forward those emails to the companies being spoofed. Just doing my part for karma.

    That would have been AWESOME!

I would have made up fake info. & answered all his questions.

When I go to a restaurant my name is Real first name + Cartwright (ex: George Cartwright), it's always Cartwright.
