Welcome to manhood in America...where women feel that they're entitled to anything you do for them.

All I can say bro, those woman are not worth the efforts.. There are tons of woman out there, not just pretty but hot in a decent way that would feel grateful after a date... Sometimes you just need to look around you, a best friend or two.. you know what I mean right?

YEP, Despite what they say, women can be JUST as crass, etc... That old "boys are made of...., girls are made of...." wasn't true even when I first heard it in like PRESCHOOL!

Don't get me wrong, there are some VERY nice girls, and even women. I am just saying there are bad ones too.

That's why you don't pay for them on your first few dates.

Why don't you take them on a 'date' to the park, to an art museum and so on. Or you can still do the traditional coffee/movies/restaurant just dont pay.

I've found that when you do pay, 80% of the time they milk it for a few more dates before anything serious happens.

Why should you pay? If you went out with your friends, chances are your not going to pay for their food? What makes her any different? Most of the time when you go on your first date with a girl, your nothing more than acceptances. Instead of giving it her like she expects, make her earn it.

I don't know where some of you live, but I have not had those experiences at all. I have paid and have been paid for. Many times.

But honestly, don't pay because you feel you have to. You'd be a horrible date then anyway. Pay because you want to. I have paid for dates. I still pay to take my wife out (from my own account), I even pay to take people to lunch all the time. Because I want to.

If you don't want to pay for dates, plan on staying home a lot

Not really, 23 different dates in a month is my personal best - didn't pay for a single one.

Well, that's fine - but it's also why it was 23 different dates

If that's your end goal, good on you. My goal was different. Mission accomplished.

    @Josh Monroe,
a man who had 23 no pay dates in a month???!!!

You know you're sitting on one of the hottest books on Kindle.

If you can't write it, make an audio, send it to me and I'll write it for you.;-) This will surely be a bestseller for years to come!

Lol, those days are long behind me.

Believe me when I say it's not as fun as it sounds, very tiring

The 'method' is simple. Find the balance between being an asshole, and being a nice guy. Once you find this 'happy medium' your onto a winner

      Good luck.

You can lead a horse to water....

You mean to tell me women like bad boys??????? That being a good boy doesn't always get you far with the girls????

Oh, my, do tell. I'm shocked. Maybe I'll give that bad boy thing a try and see how far it gets me.

And you'll read it in MY book, not yours.

Just imagine. A book about how women react to a bad boy. I think I'll use the pseudonym 'Casanova' Or 'James Dean' Or 'Wilt Chamberlain'

No, I said it's about finding the happy mediain in-between being the 'bad guy' and being the 'good guy'.

Actually quite the opposite. They all had a great time and I'm still in contact with a lot of them today. Nice job at trying to judge me though due to the 'douchebag' image dating 23 girls portrays.

See, Kurt gets it. This is what I was saying above. You'd be surprised at how many times girls order the $80 steak, then once they realize i'm not paying say something like "well, if I knew you weren't paying, I would have ordered the salad..."

If you were brought up in the south like I was - you were taught to be a southern gentleman. Which means that you open doors and you pay. A girl not paying may have nothing to do with her "generosity" and everything to do with the way she was brought up.

If one of my sons came home with a story of ditching a girl w/ an $80 steak bill, I'd be tempted to slap the hell out of him.
Yeah..cool, but what I'm saying is why should they EXPECT to be paid for?

You meet a random girl, you don't know her so you go out on a date. Why does this mean you pay? If I met a random person in the street and decided to go out for a meal with them, they wouldn't expect you to pay so why should your 'date' ?

Plus SHE suggested the restaurant (she also suggested eating out) Why? Because she thought I was going to wine and dine her at a fancy restaurant on my bankroll. When they know your not paying they never suggest eating at the fancy spots, just like when they think your paying they order more expensive items then they usually would.

I have dated a lot, I know this is a generalization but I find southern girls assume everything should be paid for and you should be happy to do it! girls from western states have offered to pay for a second date, dropped some cash offering to pay the tip and are overall more generous, come out west my friend, its good here!

      unique - I like it

My favorite first date was a trip to the zoo.

I think if you ask someone out and you plan the date and the venue - you should pay. Doesn't mean she shouldn't reciprocate and ask you out next time.

Don't take dates to places you can't afford - because they may not be able to afford it either.

As for "thank you" - there's no excuse for not thanking someone. Shows a lack of manners or a "me" focus.

      Don,

April 17 2013 will be # 49 for us and looking forward to another 30 or so.

I can remember my first dates when I was growing up and when I moved into adult hood; I paid for each of them. Why? Because you were taught to do so, just as you were taught to open the car door, as well as other doors and allow the ladies to go first. It's called respect.

In fact I still allow the ladies to go first and yes I do get a thank you almost every time.

I guess it depends on what your definition of a "date" is.
I don't think I ever went on a "date" that I didn't pay for. To me it means I asked someone out,and as the person that asked for the other person's company,I never would have expected the other person to even offer to pay for it.
    Of course, I'm old school......

Grow some alls son, your taking a girl on a date and your biggest concern is she did not pay and you only have a few shackles in your purse.

Wait until your married, your on easy street now, try a wife kids cars houses food and the list goes on.

Here's a tip, if it has wheels or ti(t)s it is going to cost you money.

Still, a person doesn't have to be rude while another person is paying, doesn't matter If they're married or not.

I think OPs point wasn't so much the money as it was a simple Thank You.

They're taking notes of your transgressions, not to be brought up until 1. Breakup 2. Official commitment. Also, they're watching how you interact with your friends, observing each male's position in the pack. If they stay with you, they'll act on such notes and separate you from friends. I'm just talking about the police. Women are much more harsh.

Yes Bro, I think we can all relate to a few 'Rude Girls' out there. The worst thing is you open the doors, offer an overcoat when it rains, turn down a beer evening with the guys, pay for a meal and you don't even get a smile or thank you. So sad!!!

But I suppose there are also 'Rude Dudes' out there too.

In my little part of the world we don't have women. We have ladies...(and ladies always "thank you")

Ladies are somewhat like Queens, and should be treated as such. If I ask a lady out she'll not have to do so much as open a door...I would never EXPECT her to pay anything.

If MY PLAN for the night and her idea of a good time turn out to be two different things we'll both know by the end of the night and will cordially say our goodbyes...no harm, no foul.

          You are forgiven.

As you know, I was born and raised a Yank, but was brought up just as you describe. It really comes down to a good upbringing, but I will give you that the South has more of that type of good upbringing left than the North.

Things have greatly changed in that arena these days, no doubt. But all of the blame can't be dropped at the feet of the men. Women who took the Women's Equality Movement way too far are just as guilty.

I often wondered what was the matter with them. I myself enjoy my femininity and all that it entails. I have always expected to be treated like a lady and find myself in the company of those who do so.

And what were they thinking with the "Burn the Bra" thingy?? They obviously had no clue what that would do to their girly figure in their latter years!

Saving one dog will not change the world - but the world will change forever for that one dog.

I wish offended people would react like fainting goats and quietly tip over.

People still "date"? I don't really do them myself. For one thing, I can't stand all that bubbly contrived crap that tends to go hand-in-hand with them, and for another I've yet to actually meet any lass where I'm from (Hull, UK) who I'd be willing to ask on one in the first place.

Spend a few days here and I guarantee you'll count your lucky stars. If that's the biggest gripe you have, things are looking promising. :p

    IMHO the Golden rule applies.

And a little Self evaluation is in order as well. Why are you asking these girls out?

Look again at Daves,Mikes and Kens post. RESPECT. That starts with yourself.

Also study Thunderbirds post. There is hidden wisdom there.

    Good Luck,Dude.

Just need you to clarify, when you say they don't thank you, is that literal thank you or does it have a deeper meaning?
