How thin can a tablet get? How about the thickness of a few pieces of paper?

They've been talking about this for close to a decade. They have EVEN spoken of one where you could pull the display out and have a LARGE display in a smaller space. I do think this might be the one that appears closest though. In the late 70s they created a kind of flexible circuit. They EVEN had moderately complex circuitry, like ICs that were as flexible. Last I knew, it was pretty popular, but you would never know it because the cases are far less flexible. Even some laptops likely use it. The intel atom looks like it might be something they might adapt to it.

The cords sure do look like a mess to have to manage though...

I didn't even look at the video. Yeah, the most popular use of the flexible technology has been CONNECTORS. Since the CPU technology is obviously not available what they did in the video is the most obvious way to demonstrate it and prototype it. Of course, they question is will the technology be available and acceptably powerful within the next decade.

If you are talking to me, I meant the board and how it works, etc... That isn't to say that the whole thing is flexible. As I mentioned, for example, the circuitry often isn't. Tht said, in 1980 I had a kind of PDA device. Not as complex or functionally flexible as the palm pilot, and the screen was smaller. EVERYTHING in it, except the LCD, CASE, and battery, was flexible. As for the battery? Polaroid came out with a flexible battery around the same time. They did NOT know what they had! Some people found out that it had FAR more power than one would ever need for it's purpose, and started using it for other things.

It is kind of like the HP laser printer(Though the concept is now in MANY xerography type devices). They put a dru that can handle maybe 100+K of copies with enough toner to handle MAYBE 5K? Well, polaroid built a battery into its film so that each shot had the power to handle processing, the flash, etc.... The odd part is that they could have built the battery into the cartridge to provide power for EVERY picture in it. Apparently they eventually did.
