Ever had a couple of Dolphins come up alongside your boat? How about Stamped of them?
(OK - maybe not 1000 - but it sure is a LOT of them!)
Dolphin Stampede Overtakes Whale Watching Boat - YouTube

This superb footage of a rare dolphin stampede was captured from a whale-watching boat near Dana Point, Calif., including shots taken from the craft's underwater viewing pods. YouTubers were as awed by the 1,000 racing dolphins as the passengers were, posting comments like "Omg this is just amazing.. Couldn't stop smiling." Others worried about the speedy creatures smashing into the boat's propellers, to which Captain Dave posted, "There has never been a case of a dolphin being struck by a whale-watching boat prop in the history of whale-watching in Southern California." Using their echolocation and amazing swimming abilities, Dave says dolphins can "see" the boat better than humans realize.

A buddy of mine and I were fishing in a little semi-V aluminum boat, ( about 12-14' ), in a little bay off the Gulf of Mexico in Clearwater when 2 dolphins broke the surface about 2 ft. from the boat. Scared the shit out of me at first.
But they hung around the boat about all day. They would come up right next to the boat. Close enough for us to touch them.
But when we reached out they'd slip away.
    It was very cool.

very cool. that event is not totally uncommon however. done a lot of open water fishing and have seen this twice, once in gulf of mexico and once in the pacific near the sea of cortez, where the boat was completely surrounded while we were cruising. it's an amazing sight, there has to be hundreds of dolphins i would guess. they're in every direction, swimming, breaching, some even jump. they get closest to the boat near the bow where they can ride the pressure wave coming off. it makes for a great day regardless of how the fishing went, something you don't soon forget.

Oo! Viral effect, right? That's pretty intense, glad to see that none of the dolphins flopped up onto the boat.

I don't know what's more amazing: the sight of the dolphins or the fact that the guy on the loadspeaker is assuming anyone is listening to him whilst people are in awe of them.

What a stroke of bad luck. You go out to spot whales on a whale-watching boat and all you get is 1000 lousy dolphins.
