6th sense .. do you believe?

When I was in 3rd grade we heard some distant sirens. I stood up in class and announced, "I have to go, that's my house." Another kid on the other side of the room said, "It is his house."

Now, I was new to this school and didn't know the other kid who said it was my house, and I wasn't one to just stand up like that and blurt something out.

Naturally we were both chastised for our outburst.

When I got off the bus (we lived in the country) and I started up the hill toward my house, a neighbor girl whose house I had to go past on the way home, came running out and yelling, "Your barn burned down, Your barn burned down."

Sure enough, our barn, western tack store, and a second barn had all burned to the ground. We lost some horses too.

Another time I was at the stock car races and knew I was going to win a rod and reel. I told everyone I was with it was mine. When they announced the winning number, that was the number on my ticket stub. I indeed won.

Another time while playing poker, one of the games where you get some "down" cards you can't look at until after you bet, I had a "hunch" I had a pair of kings down. I had one in my hand, and since three kings is a pretty good poker hand, I bet the max. My down cards were indeed the pair of kings I saw flash in my mind before I saw the cards.

Sixth sense? Yeah, I believe in it. Don't really know how it works but wish it would work on demand instead of being just random events I have no control over.

My wife seems to "know" when something (normally bad) is going to happen. It could be 2 days before a plane crash for example when she gets agitated and distressed. Ive been with her for 15 years and seen it many times to know when it is happening so yes, I do believe in a 6th sense...

No I don't believe in a sixth sense, but I have a strange feeling I might be wrong.

The sixth sense is that of thought. They don't call it that because the five senses are physical while thought isn't.

@Terra, it's funny how husbands learn the hard way to listen! :p

I once "smelled" my ex-husbands cancer. I knew he had cancer, but he wouldn't listen to me. It was the old "doctor or lawyer" threat! After an MRI (and a lot of other test first), they found it, kidney cancer, it's pretty rare.

The doctor still cannot accept that I could "smell" it, but the cancer was only about 1/8 of an inch from reaching the outside wall and from there, it would have spread to his other organs, killing him.

There's more, but way too depressing. It is always best, even if it turns out to be nothing, to listen to you gut! And, as with Kay, watch and listen to your animals! That goomba in my avatar saved my life!

As a WF member formerly known as Majik, I do believe in other senses,doesn't matter what they are called.
I also believe that the younger you are the more "in tune" you are able to be.
The older we get we tend to ignore them.

We all have these "instincts" but society (and poisoning that Kay mentions, along with 24/7 connection to electro or electro-magnetic impulses) has sequestered them. They are still there but we have to learn to pay attention to them again. They are usually so subtle that we miss them - every once in awhile they will hit us strong enough to notice. What we have to do is remember the physical feelings that accompany these knowings so we can recognize them when not so magnified. They are ALWAYS there so actually if you learn to listen to them they are more or less "on demand".

Staying away from cell phones and computers, etc every day for awhile helps to strengthen the signals - so does walking on real earth barefoot (grounds the electromagnetic field correctly). Taking walks and letting your mind drift and do what it wants to also helps - and strengthens creativity as well. Natural impulses don't work as well when everything we immerse ourselves in is unnatural.

Yep. All my dogs have always known when I am on the way home. My ex's and roommates have told me each of them have gone to the door and sat and waited about 10 minutes before I get home. I always knew about that long before my exs would get home, too. It was a convenient knowing to be sure. LOL.

Yes I believe in sixth sense and it has saved me many times especially when I am driving my car.

A few years ago I was driving and my husband was a passenger and I stopped at a green light. He asked me why I stopped and just as I turned to talk to him a car speed through the red light from the other direction. If I had not stopped he would have hit us and probably killed one or both of us. This kind of thing has happened a few times and now if he is a passenger with me he never asks but just looks at what will happen.

We have been saved many times by that odd sense I sometimes have.

I have without a doubt had some other unexplainable things happen to me
over the years. The older i get, the more I discount them.

I have never gotten a "complete picture " as far as ... do this, or don't do that ...

Just weird feelings... like the hair on the back of my neck standing up... when about to
enter a sticky situation.

I dunno, i have ignored it a few times. I learned pretty quick, NOT to do that.
I never won the lottery or anything cool like that.

BUT, i know for a fact it saved my life a few times.

When it comes to intuitive things like this we can only go on our own experience, but I have found that the more I look for synchronicity, the more I find it. Its like the Forrest/ Tree's thing. It's always there, but it seems to increase when it knows you are aware and watching for it. I believe its a tools for us, that engages even more when we are seeking it. No reason to engage if a person isnt even going to notice or use it , right?

God usually gives people signs and they call it a coincidence and insult him, in my own thinking... The people who notice it and look for it, get it more.

I tend to call it "synchronicity"... if you actively engage your self in it, and deliberately intend that synchronicity will be revealed to you in your life, then it will make bringing things to your awareness a part of the chronological order of the events in your life, you are calling on it and attracting it "Hey, let me know whats going on before you pull something off. Im watching".

6th sense is something that about i do not have any experience. So what can i say??

I certainly do believe.

I've reluctantly hired people the boss approved and they've let me down as I felt they would.

I've stopped or slowed my car for no reason other than getting some kind of warning feeling, and have avoided serious accidents that would have happend had I not slowed down or stopped. A person hopping out of a city bus from the second lane, not curb lane. A car going through a red light...

I saw the Columbine High School shooters in a mall a couple of weeks before that horrible tragedy. We just walked by each other is all. They sure did rub me the wrong way, but I had no vision of what they were going to do. I wish it was more than just a bad feeling about them so I could have gone to the police with something.

Something definitely reaches our brain first, in my opinion.

Dogs are also used to provide early warning of epilepsy seizures in humans.
Bed bug detection as well for that matter.

I had a pressing feeling I should sell my forum, just weeks before someone came along and made its value worthless. I had no idea ahead of time, just felt it was something I needed to do for some reason. Had I waited it would have become unsellable.

One thing I don't believe in is premonitions.

...but I knew I was going to say that!

"you can't" is my 6th sense. but I try to tell myself you can. Is this 6th sense?

Back in the 80's, I was at work when my intuition told me to get to Lake Huron, quickly. That was about a five-six hour drive.

I arranged for a sub to fill in for me and went home. My parents were visiting at the time. When I arrived home, I threw a bunch of clothes etc. into my luggage bags.

My Mom asked me what I was doing. I couldn't explain, I just said I've got to get to Lake Huron. She looked at me like I was right off my rocker!

As I was on my way out the door, the phone rang. My Grandfather had just suffered a massive heart attack and died.

It was my Mom who answered the phone - She came running out, as I was just pulling out in my car, and gave me the news.

I then knew the reason for my erratic behavior.

I can see dead people.

No, not really, but I trust my gut feelings about other people. I walk away if something feels funny.

I have a 7th sense, I don't like to talk about it.
