Ok, I was wondering if there are any car dealership owners or experts on here. I wanted your help if possible. Even if you used to be employed at one.

Also, if you are a car loan expert, hit me up. I would like to know a few things that I had questions to.

Just a curious question Lou - are you a closer? - and how do you close a low-ball 'off-the-dock dealer price' kind of guy? With the internet, does customer service cut it anymore? (I know a lot of people who buy from 1 dealer - 1 guy for 'generations') (and how do you feel about the new Beetle - better?)
also...what do you think is the best VW has to offer right now?

      Thanks,
      3M

        Hello,
I am a closer, if some one is a low baller we will let the car go out at invoice and hope to make some money on some after sale items or make money on finace, if a customer wants a car below invoice it will not be a friendly sale.
I do not like the steering on the new Beetle the Turbo Beetle is the way to go, the steering is much better.
The VW Passat is the best car to buy.

Hmmm... I dont know. Im kind of the one who got him in business for himself...

But I guess I would ask him where he found the motivation to follow through the way he does.

The one thing I admire about Mike most is that he is highly motivated. He could sell all day. It isnt even work to him, he never met a person who isnt his friend... he actually enjoys getting out shaking hands and meeting people...

Personally, I am good at sales, but I still hate it. Mike LIVES for educating customers and LOVES sharing his knowledge with new people and being face to face, taking people to lunch... all that good stuff.

Asking him about his motivation would probably be the most wonderous thing to me.

I already know the answer though.

He has just always been that way, it's like he was born for making friends and being social.

So, honestly I dont know what I would ask him. I teach him more than I ask him... but my forte is different than his.

I have a knack for creating business models that work, recruiting, training, generating leads...

That comes from having to pilot dozens of different kind of projects for call centers, who constantly take on new, diverse contracts...

Each different kind of product or service requires a different kind of sales process, so Im pretty well versed in making that stuff work.

Just not nearly as motivated these days. I could probably do seminars..., public speaking ... and be really good at it... but I just dont enjoy the "hob Knobbing" like Michael does.

So, I dont know what I'd ask him, usually its more of a personal nature if he counsels me.

Edit: It depends on what angle you come from. He can answer literally any question about the car industry. If you ask what kind to buy though, the answer is going to be "Toyota" every time.
