I have been so focus on my online business lately, I have completely lost track of my social life. Hopping to find some hobby that keeps me social. Any recommendations from fellow warriors would be great. Thanks in advance

Nothing that involves using electronics. I already do allot of gaming.

I was wondering what a "hooby" was. (subject) I figured it WAS some new electronic whatzit.

Well - I hunt rocks, gemstones, fossils, etc. It gets me outside and keeps me healthy - plus I get prizes!
Here's examples of what I find.

    Nevada Wonderstone: raw as found

Corrundum (sapphire) - yeah I know, it's blurry. Raw as found.

    Owyhee Plume Agate (Slabbed)

There are all sorts of things for people to find out there - you can pick up a metal detector and even just hunt coin and jewelry losses at parks and beaches or artifacts. It all comes with laws attached to what/where you can hunt, but it only takes a few minutes to look up those laws. Learning about the rocks and going and hunting them is an awesome, healthy way to bond with kids, too.

Not for everyone - but you wanted ideas.

Gemstones and crystals, are, oddly enough, pretty interesting. Here's another idea for you: LEGOS. Can't go wrong with them.

Lol, that's a funny statement. I like to do some bird watching if weather permits, especially birds of prey.

We have a Rapian reserve over in Idaho - i't s incredible. The canyon is several hundred feet deep (verticle walls) and it's spectacular to be there in first daylight - when Owls are coming in and Eagles are going out. If you ever come to the US, it would definitely be a place that should be on any birdwatchers "to do" list.

Why not try reading? Or maybe try outdoor activities such as biking or even walking in the park once in a while when you're not reading.

Go play billiards, gets you out of the house and around people, could even make you money if you get good enough.

Hopping, skipping and jumping might be quite sociable? Circle Games: Hop, Skip and Jump: A Movement Circle Game

Failing those, wine-tasting is very sociable (people go to courses and tastings), or there are always things like golf and shooting. Even smoking can be pretty sociable, because so many people frown on it, these days, that smokers tend to hang out together in quite sociable little enclaves ...

Not only that, but when you smoke, you meet tons of well meaning people who start off conversations with "did you know smoking is bad for you?"

I've never smoked in my life, but I always found it entertaining when someone would say that to a smoker.

One time, one of my friends was with me and did that to a person and I gave him this huge look of surprise () and said "Dude, that's not possible. My doctor recommends Camels!" The smoker about dropped their cigarette from laughter because they knew what I was doing.

I'm not quite sure why you would need a hooby hooby as they really are of no help at all.

The Urban dictionary says a hooby hooby is any one person or persons who lack common knowledge and sense and are prone to becoming really confused and extremely forgetful.

May I suggest a hobby instead?

How about collecting something whether it be antiques, ships, coins, or Betty Boops. (that's mine)

You can be active in both nice weather and bad. In nicer weather you can go to tent cities, craft sales, art sales, etc and in inclement weather, there are always flea markets.

Oh, but don't take any hooby hoobys with you as you collect.

How funny are some of these statements !!

Smoking would also get you out of the house and meeting new people eventually:
        store owners selling smokes
        friendly people bumming a smoke
        doctors
        nurses
        other patients
        medical equipment delivery people
        etc
        etc

I think you guys are onto something really social here.

        Joe

Maybe your hooby should be joining a gym or buy some home exercise equipment and share workout time with a family member or friend.

This could lead to all kinds of other things that might interest you after you get fit from exercising like dining out, joining a bowling league or even line dancing in some fancy outfits. Get out among other people, laugh and have some fun.

Seriously, sometimes you have to add other necessary and interesting things to do as that will help you think more clearly and creatively when you focus on your business.

It's pretty expensive, and only sociable if you join a club and many of my friends make fun of me because it isn't something people in my generation really do, but I LOVE woodworking.

I don't get to do it that often, but it's extremely relaxing, and it is the coolest thing to make something out of such raw materials with your hands.

No one can choose a hobby for you. What kinds of things do you like?

What about checking local adult education programs and see if any catch your interest. Or check local university course offerings. Any sports of interest? Like a bowling league or walking club?

What do you like to do?

Try motorcycles, quads, exploring some trails. If you say you`re playing videogames, i guess you stay mostly indoors, so a change would be best. Or , you can bycicle, build some muscles

Golf. It's the only sport you can have a beer with your buddy's while playing. It's one of the most social sports you can get into.

LOL - nothing like passing around a fattie when out collecting rocks with your website members then watch everyone wondering why they brought back "that rock" in the first place.

The first thing to do if you want a really kewl social life is build a website for your favorite hobby in the world - then meet up with the members now and again. My site members all having major amounts of fun in the real world together - and more people are joining because we're having so much fun torturing each other on line and passing around pics from each other's trips out together when a few meet up. I'd have gone nuts online years ago if I hadn't have put up this website - each outing in the real world actually helps build the site so time offline is not time I wasted not being online.
