MODS - if this is does not belong here. I 100% understand.

Allen, thanks for letting this ride if it can.

Hey guys, in tough times, I know millions need a helping hand and
I have never been one for posting in forums for people in dire straights.

But, with that said... This story has touched my heart.

A total stranger reached out to me to donate for a young girl that
is 15 and has cancer. She needs money for treatment that can save
her life.

Life is precious and we Warriors can help save her life. She does
not need much to be raised to get her treatment.

I promised the family today that I would reach out to the people I
think will so what they can, no matter how small, to help.

Her name is Macy Johns. Please see what you can do to help this
young beautiful girl.

She is counting on us.

Even if it is $10. $100 even better. $1000 if you are blessed to be in that position.

And if money is tight, hey, I have been there too but there are ways to help.

Add it to your sig file for a few days. Add it to your outlook. Send a tweet. YOU
can make a difference.

The website is here.

Hodgkins Disease Cancer Macy Johns 15 Years Old - Donation Site

- Donate
- Tweet
- Pray

Or do just one of those if that is all you can do.

I got a personal email from her family and she was in tears with joy for
what we were able to do yesterday when I told a few friends and tweeted.

We raised $4600 in 1 day.

Thanks so much to all of you.

Mike Filsaime

PS - I know this is off topic for this forum. But there is more views in here
and I think a precious life of a 15 year old girl needs all her help.

I hope the trolls stay away from this thread and the TRUE Warriors read
this and say a prayer for her and her family.
#appreciated

Tina sent me here today. Good luck with the fund-raising. I do know two Hodgkins survivors (they both are now 20+ years after treatment and going strong) personally, so it's definitely beatable. I'll offer my prayers as well for her and her family.

For some reason I do not feel an urge to donate.

Looks like macyjohns.com website is registered to internet marketer William Surrency (Will Surren?) who also owns such domains as:
    weconsolidatecards.com
    insomniaforidiots.com
and others. Many of them are 1-page salesletters for stuff.

    Maybe I wrong in this.

    Spam?
    I don't know.

That is because you did not read the website. He is the one who set up the site
and his name is on the bottom of the salutation for crying out loud. So before you
do your "WHOIS" detective work, just read the site and the explanation as
well as who signed the page.

Here is the email I got from him today.
      2009-04-16_2253

He is also going to be at Anik's Event in May in Vegas as well as mine and
he and I are having dinner. The family is very thankful. If you do not want
to be a part of helping, that is cool. But be responsible and do better research
when warning people not to donate to help a child that is very sick and would
die without the warm help from the otherwise WONDERFUL people in this forum.

Your scarcity mentality is blinding you. That is really your problem. I knew
people would say things like this. Thus I made the "troll" remark.

Sorry to come down on you. But it saddens me how scared people are
about the truth that they think this or anything like this is a scam.

This can happen to ANYONE of us or our families.

I think you are way off base Mike. Anyone can pretend to be anyone on this forum as well as the internet. Doing due diligence is a great thing when dealing on the internet. It has nothing to do with scarcity mentality.

I was about to donate as well but the website put me off. If you want to say I have a scarcity mindset than have at it. Those comments just make you look bad.

I love to help others out. I just don't want to get scammed doing it. There has been a few that have come here and taken advantage of good people.

O.K. So do not donate. That is your choice. I stand by my words becuase
the person tried to "out" William when it was CLEAR that he wrote the
letter and admits to helping the family in the text and SIGNS his name.

Maybe Macy should do the HTML from her sick bed?

So I simply stated that the person did not share anything with his "Detective" work
and that what he stated was already transparent.

          So, what is your point?

The fact remains that there are scams. But I did look into it and was satisfied
and I would think that my reputation would add some credence to the
reality that a young girl is very ill.

If you TRULY want to help if this is real. I can arrange to get the family's
phone number and you can call the parents or perhaps be blessed to speak
to Macy and offer her some nice encouraging words keep her cheer up.

Let me know. I can do that if you really do want to help and you can not
see the truth in this for what it is worth.

I saw you sent a donation. Thanks for that. That will really help.

If you feel better calling me an asshole, in this thread, than I will take that one
with a grain of salt for the good of the help this family will get.

As for talking about trolls in my start of the thread. It was really referring to the ones like that guy that said "I hope she dies".

I apologized already for being too harsh to call the other person a troll. I was off base

If you guys do a little searching around you will see that there are yard sales being organized in Florida as well as other activities to raise funds for this girl.

Nobody wants to be had, but I would honestly feel worse knowing that I didn't send a couple bucks to a child that had cancer and could die then knowing that I got taken for $100.

Which child would you like to get the donation Jeremy? The real child that needs it or the scammer pretending to be a child.

Searching is due diligence. I also would investigate any non profit organization before giving money. I would rather people that need the money, get the money.

I do think it is fair of Mike to say others are a troll for asking a legitimate question.

The guy did not ask a legitimate question. He posed the fact that it may be a scam because it is registered to an internet marketer based on his research.

All I said was if he read the site, he would see THAT SAME GUY made the site and
signed it on the page and explained how he organized the site to help the family.

Maybe it was unfair to call him a troll. But he was mistaken and was not helping and
had HE done his due diligence he could have spared himself from saying what
we already know without casting the doubt of a scam when it is simply a family
            that needs help.

Again, I am not going to spend time on the squeaky wheels here. This is it I hope
            on that stuff.

He wrote Spam with a question mark. Normally a question mark is followed by a question. He was helping fellow members here. This is what we do because of the amount of scammers that do come here.

People are really good here. It is easy for them to get scammed. I would rather people question and have the facts come out. I don't think it will hurt donations once you correct the facts.

You are right, we don't need to continue with this.

I say this because I have become SO jaded my first thought was, ok what is Mike trying to sell now and what new sort of crappy marketing ploy is someone trying out on us.

That is just so wrong and I'm not happy with my initial response in the least! So what to do with the self-shock of that, I don't know yet! eye opening experience for me.

MemberWing, I just joined this site a few min ago. I was just told about this site tonight so I def. don't want to rant. I understand you being skeptical, as no one here knows me. Yes I own about 40 domain names most of which I have not developed yet. Several are article sites with adsense and yes some are one-page CB sites. I hope that having these sites is not a bad thing. I am trying to become an Internet marketer and slowly I am. If you look at my name domain I list all of my domains. I am not trying to hide anything.

Macy is my 1st cousins daughter, which makes her my 2nd cousin. Yes, she is a real person and and everything on her website is 100% true. She is at Wolfson Children's Hospital Jacksonville, Florida please verify this. I ask that you please remove your reply as this could cause someone not to donate and Macy would be the one to suffer.

Think about it, when someone needs help we all do what we know. I know how to build websites and I told her and her mom and dad that I would do this for her. I promise you this is no scam. Please verify and post a reply to your message to confirm what you find out from Wolfson Children's Hospital Jacksonville, Florida.

Another thing, if this were a scam, would I post the bank account number and routing number on the website. You can also call VyStar Credit Union and tell them you would like to donate to the donations account for Macy Johns Cancer Patient in care of William Surrency Jr. They can confirm the information as well. The account number is on Macy's site.

Cynicism I don't have much time for. However, skepticism is by and large a healthy thing, so I get where Thomas is coming from. There are indeed scheming shysters roaming around - some find this forum from time to time.

Tomorrow I'll be blessed to watch hundreds of teens around Macy's age try their hearts out at a track and field meet. Some will win, some lose - but all get to go home safe and sound. It would be good if this young lady has a fighting chance to do likewise.

      Regards,
      Mark

Can't speak for the girl, her family, Mike or any of the other marketers involved with helping her.. but I can tell you from personal experience as a cancer survivor, my chemo alone was upwards of $30,000. That's not even including CT scans, blood work, medications that I needed, followups, etc.

Mike, while this part of the forum might not generally be the "right" place for something like this as far as the rules are concerned.. I think you're doing the right thing and I hope this post stays here where it'll get as much attention as possible. I'll definitely tweet about this and I'll be looking into what I can afford to donate in the next couple days. It might not be much, but I know (again from personal experience) that every little bit counts. I'll be keeping Macy and her family in my prayers and hoping for the best.

In a way, by helping this one girl you may be helping all of them. There are organizations with funds to help people in these kinds of situations, but those funds are limited. By making a donation you're freeing up those funds to be used elsewhere. But, if you'd like more directly to help the thousands of other people who are suffering.. feel free to also make donations to worthy causes like the Make A Wish Foundation, American Cancer Society, Lance Armstrong Foundation (they put a lot of money into cancer research, and also lobby Congress to do the same), St. Jude, etc.

My point is your an asshole who thinks everyone that doesn't do what you think should be done has a scarcity mindset.

If you want to talk mindset than you should have yours checked. You set the mood of this thread by talking about trolls in your opening post.
The man has a point. I thought Mike started off on the wrong tack too. And being aggressive to the guy who was doing his due diligence didn't help matters. Mike, you are not a GOD. You are just like the rest of us. Maybe you've ripped more money out of this game but "that don't impress me much". But acts of kindness do. So I've chipped in.

For now we want to stop at $10,000. I don't know if they will need more latter but for now 10 should get them by for a little while. I want to be careful not to raise more than they need because I don't know what they would need to do with any additional funds. I guess they could put in a trust for her if that happened but I am not sure. Given that, I will disable the buttons as soon as possible after the account reaches 10k. The site will stay online for Macy to update and I think I will show her mom and dad how to set up an adsense account for her.

    Guys,

I checked Mike's twitter page here: Mike Filsaime (mikefilsaime) on Twitter, you can find some messages about the donation.

For me it's a confirmation it's the 'real' Mike who posted this and not someone who would have hijacked his WF account.

Mike, sorry for checking but on internet, we never know...

My daughter is 26 and just announced she is getting married.
I couldn't imagine life without her in it.
I hope and pray Macy gets the help she needs and gets to announce her engagement sometime in the near future.
No kid should have to go through this.
    Kick ass Macy.

Relax guys, I'm just trying to understand why Mike Filsaime is starting this thread here. As we all know, there are thousands of children suffering with cancer. But when someone starting a post like this it's getting closer to the mind. I just ask myself the question "Do I want to help this girl, or do I want to help all of them? It's just a little weird that 1 girl is getting help and that thousands other children still have to suffer...

I know a lot of you guys think I'm sounding skeptical and think I'm a bad person. But that's not the case. I'm just trying to understand why Mike is trying to help just 1 girl instead of "generating money" for more then 1 person.

That said,,, why is it wrong trying to understand why Mike is posting this here? I'm sure a lot of warriors have the same doubts but are to scared to post here... (but that's an other story)

I assure you that I am perfectly relaxed. I am not sure why you think people have the same doubts but I highly doubt it. In fact, if you think I am scared to post than you didn't see some of my others posts in this thread.

There doesn't need to be some underlying motives. Someone brought his attention to this girl and he wanted to help by passing it along to others. He posted on this forum because he knew a lot of us have helped others out and would pony up for this charming young woman.

Why does helping one girl have to go towards helping all the people that have cancer in this world?

Seriously, I think you are making a big deal out of nothing here.

If you don't want to help this girl than help any other person you want. You don't need to donate. You can start your own charity if you choose to. Good luck with it.

I am especially interested in why you think anyone can help them all? Again, you have no idea what other charities Mike or anybody else on this forum are helping.

I think the answer to that question is pretty simple.

As much as we'd all like to - we can't help everyone.

Mike is a human being and a caring person - this particular young girls situation came to his attention, and knowing that whatever else he can do - sharing the knowledge of a real person in need of help in a place such as this WILL result in extra help being given.

I know this is a marketing forum and the aim is to gather and talk about making money, but there's more to life than making money - there's WHY you want to make money.

For most people this comes down to:

1 - To remove money worries or problems associated with a lack of money.

2 - To feel like you've created value with your life (whatever you think about money, aquiring it isn't a bad measure of whether you've taken action and done something to help others - you usually make money by giving people something they want or need).

3 - To be able to help others.

This is the particular reason that suits this thread. We all want to make money, but a lot of warriors have that desire because having more resources equates to being able to help more people.

In situations like this one with Macy, donating money literally will make a difference - so it's natural for Mike to think that sharing this information here will undoubtedly end up being read by people that want to help.

If you can afford to send $100 - that won't save everyone in need, but it WILL make a difference to this one young girl.

So - the question is - Why WOULDN'T MIKE think sharing this made sense?

If you've been a member here for any amount of time you'll have seen some idiots come and go and sometimes there are people who have no respect for others at all and are insensitive enough to make offensive remarks in situations where it's completely out of order.
Mike knows this and obviously some part of him felt the need to try and avoid that type of poison affecting this thread.

If you're looking for problems you can always find them, so even that comment in his post was enough for some people to hook on to. It had the opposite effect to the desired one. but that's life so let's just get on with helping the girl.

It's a bit of a shame to have a thread which has such a simple and pure cause end up having more ranting about motives and mindsets than posts from people helping.

These things are optional - if you don't want to help, just click your Back button - there's no need to try and find demons where there are none.

            WHY?

Because Macy's cousin is a Warrior.

Because Mike Filsaime heard about it through that Warrior
            - and Mike has a LONG history of reaching out with a helping
hand to causes he believes worthy and bonafide.

(And he's addressed it in a longer post, see message #87 in
            this thread)

Because Warriors HELP people in need.

Because one person cannot make as much difference as many.

I know from personal experience and observation what it is
like to have a 'Warrior Ripple' set off in support of a
            non-profit.

            HOW IT WAS DONE...

            - will always be debatable.

            - will always leave room for improvement.

            - is reasonably confidence-inspiring (see the website, almost
all relevant detail is available and verifiable contact
            info is shared).

Online fundraising is a pretty difficult area to dabble in
BECAUSE there are so many scams and scammers around.

Yet, if we let that affect or influence the way we view our
world, or limit our potential to make a difference, that's
worse than being scammed, don't you think?

Be cautious. But also be generous.

    Mike,

I love to donate money for things like this, so no problems here.

But I really have to ask you 2 questions, just to get things clear.

    - People will think (at least it came to my mind) that you are doing this to show us that you are a real guy, with human feelings etc. It's good for your status, and will eventually be good for your sales. You could simply send an e-mail to all of your partners asking them the same thing and getting tons more money... right?

That said, I always thought you have millions of dollars, and now you're asking this warrior forum to help... So my second questions is: How expensive is this treatment?

Please note that I'm just curious and in no way was trying to offend you!

Dennis, what exactly are you saying? Are you saying that Mike should just pay for the treatments?

If so than I think you are completely off base with your comments. Why should Mike pay for the treatment?

First, you don't know how Mike spends his money or what other charities he gives to.

Second, you don't know if Mike didn't contact some of his other partners.

Third, it doesn't matter since a lot of us want to help this girl so why shouldn't we?

Just because someone makes millions of dollars doesn't mean they need to shoulder all the charities and responsibilities for everyone in need.

It is all of our responsibility not just a selected few.

I am not attacking you but want you to think about what I said.

      To that I say this:

Mike just gave out like 1,500 copies of Butterfly Marketing he could have sold for $2,000 apiece.

If you took advantage of that deal (I know I did), now he's giving you a chance to 'pay it forward' and take some of that money you saved by jumping on the free deal, and help someone in need.

After all, why should Mike have all the fun?

Sites down right now, anyone got a donation link I can invest some of that money I saved?

    Hey,

I know a lot of people ask whether it is appropriate to post these kinds of things in the main forum etc. And I know everyone has struggles and problems they need help with, and if they all posted here, we'd never get down to any business, but.....

I don't really care about that anymore. I used to think about it, but I absolutely love the fact that the warriors have helped so many people and continue to do so. I think it is a great reflection on the people that hang out here that people come here to make these kinds of appeals, and I think it is pretty cool Mike decided to visit this place with his appeal as well.

I am donating and hope I can do my little bit. I'll Twitter hard these next few days. I'm rooting for Macy and her family.

As a side note, I often wonder if it would be benficial to have a section of the forum where people could ask for help, but it probably wouldn't get the required readership to make it worthwhile. Hmmmm. Never mind, I am just thinking out loud here.

My thoughts, prayers and best wishes to the family. Lets hit the big 10k for them!

We both don't know why Filsaime started this thread here.
We only have our idea's about it.

We can discuss about this for days but it won't help this girl.
So I will stop posting reply's here and donate a nice amount of money because I really care. Let's hope everything is going well.

Donation sent, courtesy of my oldest son. I sat in the PICU with my son 8 years ago and have seen the effects of losing a child on other parents there. Thankfully, 8 years later my son is alive and well.

Having lost my 20 year old sister to cancer in 1997, this is a topic that is near and dear to my heart. I think for the people that don't want to donate should do just that, not donate and keep the thread on topic. Having personally witnessed Mike Filsaime help many people behind-the-scenes in this very forum is more than enough for me to donate for this cause and then some.

    RoD

P.S. The thank you page was a nice surprise and well done. I hope there will be many more smiles in this young lady's future.

The internet gives us all a lot of choices. I believe giving to real causes, like this one, is an important one that we all need to make. Working in numbers (meaning the group of readers here) is a great way to leverage our influence to help people who really need it.

If you're not sure about giving, pick a product of mine, from my signature below and send the amount for it as a donation, then send me a pm and I'll send you my product for free.

Everyone, I am fairly new around here. But I just want to point out that I think it is pretty disgusting that people are calling out Mike Filsaime for trying to do a good deed.

Sure, any big-name marketer wants to have a good reputation and come off looking like "one of the good guys"

But just because he is "Mike Filsaime" as opposed to "Internet Marketer #314321" does not mean we should all of a sudden question his motives.

I don't know Mike Filsaime from Adam, never met the guy. Sure I bought BFM 2.0 like everyone else, but I don't know him personally.

But I can tell you that getting on somebodies case because they are trying to use their public platform to help either 1 or 10 or 10,000 people, is just classless and rude.

I am not trying to offend anyone in this thread that may have posted any "negative" or doubtful messages about this young ladies fundraising efforts or the gentleman marketer who set up her site.

But I think that you should take a look inside yourself and ask yourself WHY you feel it necessary to try to put doubt and "IT'S A SCAM!!!" type messages in a thread meant to help SAVE THE LIFE OF A YOUNG GIRL.

    That's just downright awful.

I will leave it at that, make my donation, and hope that people will read my message, and instead of instantly turning Flame-Mode on, will instead stop and think about it for a minute.

    Well...

I've donated and signed the guest book too, I trust Mike 100%.

Yesterday I was walking past the bus stop near our local mall
when a guy asked me for some spare change for the bus...

I gave him the coins in my pocket, $3 dollars.

I walked into the mall for an hour & a 1/2 or so & when I came out
the guy was still asking for money for the bus...

Now i train like a demon... I weigh 110 kilos of muscle,
    (about 240 pounds)...

I could've easily knocked this guy out for his dishonesty,
(simply coz I cant stand dishonesty) But then i thought otherwise.

    Money...

    Some people need it.
    Some people greed it.

I've spent money on useless shit before but all I know is that there COULD be
little girl who COULD need a helping hand, it COULD be a scam and you COULD
donate $10 Bucks and you COULD get ripped off...

or you COULD help save a life.

But no need to get all upset about anything... it's only $10 bucks or so?

Good luck on your decision to donate.
Im sure your decision will be a great one

Here is a small note to member "severt" or maybe some other people that question
    why I did this.

Last year, Mike Ambrosio, a member of this forum and a member of my team,
    lost his niece to Cancer.

We fought hard to raise money, but unfortunately, the cancer was found too late that
all the money in the world could not save her.

I watched how this young girl went through so much pain an lost her fight while
    in her teens.

It was devasting to Mike, his sister (the girls mother), their family, and our entire
    staff.

The day she died, it was one of the toughest days I have been through as an Internet
    Marketer.

I felt helpless when she passed and felt horrible for the parents to have to
deal with the loss of their child.

You ask why don't I just pay for the surgery?

Richard Branson is one of the weathiest people in the world. Why does he have
VirginUnite ? Why not just give all his money to the charity and not ask others
    to help.

I am not sure why you question why I ask the warriors for help. Why does
    Branson have a charity?

I would prefer not to have made this reply.

But for you to think I would do this for my own benefit is very surprising to me. But
you just do not know me. Others say I think I am a GOD (in this thread) or say
that I am not one which implys maybe I think I am. And I did not think my
mention of trolls was out of line in the PS of my post. There are mean people
in this world and they find this forum every now and then. It was not to the
great warriors, it was keep mean people out that do not know how to bite there
tongue when they have bad things to say and there is a life at stake here.

I get emails all the time, from veterans, people about to lose their homes,
blind and deaf and handicap. How / if I help those people is my business.

But I never go a tweet "I just did this and that" for my own benefit.

I am not going to talk about the many charities I donate too. I am not
    looking for credit.

I do what I can. I thinking giving back is very important. But I do not
make it a point to let the world know when I do it.

Getting a letter from a kid in Africa with a picture is all the reward I need.

Could I pay for this charity myself. I could yes. And I made a promise
to the family that I would do EVERYTHING I can to get them to the goal
and promised them, no matter what, they would hit it. If I had to doante
    any shortcomings I would.

I did reach out to my best friends with a personal email. They did donate.

    One of them $3000.

    I donated my self 2 x.

You may have heard the story about the Gril and her father and the Starfish on the beach.

They walk on the beach and they see thousands of beached starfish.

The young girl picks one up and throws it BACK in the water. The father asks her
"Why did you do that? There are thousands. You think that will make a difference?"

She replied "It will make a difference to that one!"

the point is, we can not save the world. But we can make a difference to one
person. On wonderful human act at a time.

I know in my heart, there are great wonderful people in this forum that would
rather I reached out to them then do this all by myself.

Many people find great reward in helping people that can not help them selves.

I requested if you could not donate, to tweet and pray and spread the word.

    We can ALL help.

So rather than question my motives. Just donate and send move on. Do you
really need to know what my motives are?

I saw a young girl lose a battle with cancer last year. If there is anything
I can do to prevent that, I will. Even for a total stranger. It is my goal
    to meet her.

She is just so happy that many of you helped. That is the medicine she needs.

Not just the money, but to know people are rallying for her to get well.

That is 1 Million times better than a paid in full donation my friend.

Please, for a minute, don't let yourself be so blinded that I would do
such a thing for personal branding. That is disgusting and it saddens
    me. Honestly.

When I got a DM in twitter about this. I saw the page and I was taken
over completely. I had instant reminders of the page Mike A made for
    his niece.

I instantly said "Not this time!!" and I knew reaching out to my friends
and fellow warriors was the right thing to do and I acted on it.

God bless her and all of you that did what you could, even in prayer
    to help this young kid.

Again, you guys are wonderful and I am sorry for this post here. It is not
about me and I would prefer no one replies on this part. I just needed to
address this for some that questioned why I would do this for a young girl I do
    not even know.

The answer is, "The same reason many of you did. It is the right thing to do."

I have another reason why Mike brought this to the forum, and to others for help.

The reason is that Mike is a leader. One of the hardest lessons I've had to learn as a leader is that "doing it myself" is actually almost always the wrong action. It's often the easiest thing to do, but it has ramifications beyond the simple act that impact you, your teams, and others for some time to come.

Opportunities like this allow many things to happen for the individuals and for the community as a whole that would not happen if leaders simply did it themselves and did not bring these opportunities to their communities (tribes, followers, teams).

I suspect this is something of a second nature to a guy like mike. I still struggle with it myself.

When my niece was diagnosed with colon cancer at 17 years old (March '08), after the initial shock wore down a bit, I thought about ways to help my sister and my niece from a financial standpoint. I thought long and hard about coming here to the WF, in which I have been an active member since the old UniSol forum back in 99 or 2000.

Ultimately, I decided not to for a few reasons...

    - My sister and her husband were fortunate to have fantastic insurance
    - They live in a community that from the first day rallied everyone they could in support, in the form of fundraising dinners, carnival (yes - a whole carnival with rides and everything) and much more.
    - They found the local childrens hospital had an excellent program which helped them in many ways too.

I knew if I posted here, at some point someone would come and "call me out" in some form, and I would have to prove my niece's existence, or have my sister post, or some such.

I am all for due diligence, but I felt it would not be worth it for my sister, who was already in the heat of battle with getting answers for my niece.

Instead, I held a sale and gave her the procedes. Even in the sale, I only mentioned my niece in the P.S. of the sales letter as I didn't want any negative energy.

When the generous people at MikeFilsaime.com Inc donated, Mike matched every dollar.

My niece passed on December 11th and my family still feels the loss greatly. It seemed her entire senior class, teachers, friends as well as family came to her funeral. Our precession shut down our local 4 lane highway because there were so many cars.

Because I know what Macy's family is going through, I hope and pray that they get every cent they need so they can focus their energy on Macy because she needs it.

Cancer sucks. Cancer kills. My prayers are with Macy and her family - as are the prayers of my sister and her family.

Thank you so much Warrior Forum members!!!!! I talked with Macy tonight and she was checked out of the Hospital and at home. You guys have lifted the spirits of her and her parents. There is an evident stress relief visible in her parents face as they have been worried about their daughter and the mounting expenses. Since I told them about you guys and what you are doing, they have been able to focus their energy more toward Macy and less toward worries of how they are going to pay for everything she needs.

Macy is my 2nd Cousin. Please take this as a thank you from her family. They do not know much about the internet but they have seen Macy's web page. When Macy is feeling better, I am going to sit down with them to show her this forum so they can see what everyone has done to help.

If you are here and you are saying I would love to help but I don't have the money. No worries.... Just visit Macy's website and sign her guestbook an some encouraging message.... If you are a prayer warrior Pray for Macy and her family.... If you are on Twitter "Tweet"... There are many other ways you can help Macy if you are not in a situation to where you can donate funds. Her guest book is a great place to give her a message that will lift her up.

YOU

All my tweets in the last day have been about this appeal.

I don't have too much money to give right now, though I have made a donation. It has already been said, if you can't send a dime, take some time to tell a friend, tweet, mail your list, write a blog post, anything. Like I say, this is an awesome forum with some great people in it.

Off topic, but I heard not too long ago that they were trying to "ban" certain life saving cancer drugs not because they weren't effective, but because they were "too expensive". That's one reason I'm against any kind of "nationalized" or "socialized" health care system.. I know how it is in Canada, their health care is free, but most of the people I know who live there say the quality of health care is nowhere near what it is here.. lol.. as I said in a debate on the subject over on another site I'm on, I'd rather be uninsured, thousands of dollars in debt and alive than insured and dead.. free health care doesn't mean much if you can't get the treatment you need because it's too expensive for the "government insurance" to pay for.

Back on topic.. I tweeted about this and scheduled a couple retweets in TweetLater. Had my brother do the same for both of his accounts (personal and his band) since he has a few thousand followers.

Hi, I am new to this forum. I am a 62 year old senior citizen and I am trying to help someone who needs help. His name is Kenneth Robinson and he is a 53 year old man displaced by Hurr. Katrina to Knoxville, TN in 2005.
He stayed with relatives until recently he got a Section 8 house to live in because it was too crowded where he was staying. Unfortunately Kenneth only gets $674 a month SSI income and could not afford furniture. His money goes towards rent, utilities, transportation costs, personal, food, etc. He is sleeping on a hard floor that is not good for his back disability. Kenneth is both mentally and physically disabled and handicapped. Please help him get some furniture for his bedroom and living room. Please send donation to Kenneth Robinson, 2638 Summitt Ave, Knoxville, TN. If you need proof of his circumstances please give name and address and I will send information to you. Thanks alot. Please twitter this also.

Why is the world so cruel? this is so sad.

15 years old is so young. Let's work together and help this family - they deserve it as do many in this world - these people don't have the backing of the likes of famous people like Elton John etc to help (if anyone knows where I'm coming from) - it is so unfair.

In November 2006 I lost my aunt to cancer (my mum's sister), in November 2007 I lost my dad to Melanoma cancer and last night at 11.30 I lost another aunt to cancer (another of my mum's sisters) - it has been a terrible 2 years.

I pray that young Macy will get the help she needs.

I will donate as much as I can.

Donation just sent. I know I'm late to see this here, but after hearing of Mike Ambrosio's niece, plus a good friend's sister dying of cancer a few weeks ago, and my own sister-in-law 2 years ago...how could I say no to Macy!

So glad to see so many generous Warriors come forward, and knowing Mike F personally I can tell you that he may not be a "god" as some like to project, but he has a tremendously BIG heart, with no alterior motives here.

Momentum has slowed quite a bit the total is now at $6,664.32. Not 10K but still a big help for Macy. Please keep this thread going. From what you guys have already proven I know the account will continue to grow.

Here in Jacksonville, we are going to host a large yard sale on Saturday 4/25 to help raise money for Macy. If you are in Jacksonville the yard sale will be on Cassat Ave. near Normandy.

Thank you for all of your help Warriors and please keep it going..

I think this campaign may have lost a little momentum due to the fact that the total amount of cash asn't been updated since Sunday. I think the people donating and working hard to spread the message need to see the fruits of their labor and how successful/unsuccessful their work is.

You make a Very good point... My Bad....

I would like to give you guys an update on everything that has gone on over the past week.

Macy received her chemo through the weekend. She returned today for blood work and was checked in as outpatient to receive blood as her count was low.

When we ask her how she is doing, she keeps saying she is fine as if she doesn't know what all of the fuss is about. As the rest of the family is all worried, she appears to remain strong and confident.

A few things that have happened that are not only a blessing but in my opinion miracles.

After registering the website and getting it online, you guys jumped in to help and have already helped raised $6,850.33.

Imagine all of the email that Mike Filsaime receives everyday. Somehow, he saw my DM on twitter and read it and not only did he read it, he made a generious donation and came here to tell you guys about Macy.

The website MacyJohns.com ranked on 1st page of Google for "Hodgkins Disease Cancer" & "Donations Hodgkins Disease" within 3 days of building the site.

Approval for transfer of funds exceeding $500 from paypal with verification of information and the transfer all within 2 days.

$5000.00 are already in Macy's bank account and ready to help.

Her mother contacted the insurance company and they told her if she pays the late payments on insurance by end of next week, they will reinstate the insurance.

A huge THANK YOU!! goes out to **** EndGame **** He made a video, put it up on YouTube and sent it out to friends asking others to help Macy. He also gave me a swift kick in the rear to get the meter updated. Thanks again, EndGame

Total is $6,850.33 plus a donation was received today in the mail and Now the total is at $6,875.33.

All of these things are blessings. However, given my past experience with google, paypal and banks with all of these things, I have never seen things work out this way for any website before. I truly believe that Macy has been blessed with miracles over the past week and I have a great feeling that with everyone's help, she is going to beat this cancer. Please keep the positive energy going her way through prayer, donation, email to friends and anything else you can do. The goal is 10K and the account is still moving in that direction. Prob. would have been faster if I had kept the meter updated this week. We are also doing a yard sale for her Saturday that will have many families involved. We will have live singing and DJ set up. Please pray that we are able to hit the 10K between the internet and the yard sale.

I have updated the graphic on the hompage for the meter. However, I am not able to access one of the servers. So, the guestbook as of now is offline until I can figure out how to move it to the new server.

Guys, Thank you so much!!!! I hope you know how blessed the family feels having everyone pulling for Macy.

If you have any questions, my contact info is on the homepage of the site. You are best calling my cell phone.

      Thanks again,

Mike I also tweeted this and will RT for as long as it makes a difference. Hope it causes some of my followers to donate.

I wish I had been more involved in IM a few years ago when my best friends son found out he had leukemia. Poor little guy passed away last year and I always thought I could have done more to help. It may not have saved him but donations could have made his family live easier during their nightmare.

If I had been on the forums then I could have asked all the great people here to help out as well.

I will be donating also. We all need to stick together in times of crisis.

I'm sad that I cant make any donations now as my paypal account has just been drained for something but I am willing to help in any other means I can. Hope it would be able to help in some ways.

    Hey guys,

Since Will was going to post it but couldn't I'll do it for him:

I've taken all my marketing videos and advertising videos off that youtube account and I am setting up another one for those.

I want that channel and video to be exclusively for macy and her appeal for as long as she needs it, so if you're so inclined feel free to distribute the video.

I'm a little embarassed about being on video and my stupid accent etc, but I would make a 100 videos if I could and be mortified by it if it meant I got to help out people like Macy and their family.

    Thanks to Will;

    a) for doing all this

and b) for his kind words.

I am rooting for the Macy and the family.

She and my 17yo son are very close friends and I was with Macy's family last night when they got the call about the donations coming in from the wonderful ppl on this website. There was alot of relief on hers parents faces at the end of that call. As William as posted Macy is in great spirits and will assure you that she is fine....brave is what she is. I wanted to give another update to the Warriors in this thread. I have had some problems with my FTP connection but have cleared up everything. The meter on the site is updated with the current total donations. You will be glad to know that the family has already received 1/2 of the goal in their account and the money is already going toward Macy's care. Thank you again for your ongoing support. We are $2254 away from the goal and I know that we are going to reach it soon.

Please continue to keep Macy and her family in your prayers and continue to tell others about her and her condition. As Laura said, Macy will tell you she is fine. I talked to her tonight on the phone and asked her how she was feeling. She said, "Uncle Will, I am fine" I am her cousin but she calls me uncle it is kind of a southern thing. But the point I am making is she is so strong... She doesn't want anyone to worry about her and she cares more about how everyone else is doing. She is just a great kid...

Macy, I know you may be reading this forum so a little message to you. I want you to know that I am proud of you for the way you have dealt with this challenge in life. The challenges you are facing and the strong faith that you have shown has been an inspiration to many people locally as well as all over the world. You said you were going to kick cancers butt and I believe you have!!! I'm sorry it took me as long as it did to get involved in helping. It just took a little while for reality to hit me. I am glad that I was able to put the website together for you. Building a website is such a small thing ( I have built hundreds). It is the great people in this forum and others like them around the world that have answered the appeal on the website and joined hands to help. I am honored to be able to play a small role in this effort.

Also, a special thank you to Mike, Frank and everyone else who has helped get the word out about Macy.

We do a 1100 km cycling ride here for kids with Cancer...it raises close to a million a year. When we see the kids suffering from this disease, the inner strength they possess..it is truly amazing.

Kids are meant to be running through sprinklers and laughing at cartoons not battling diseases.

I don't want to hijack this thread so I will close by saying only this...

Another update on the site. With tomorrow being the big day for the test results, I thought I would redesign the site a little. So, I have made changes to the top of the page. Macy, I hope you like the changes I made to your pic. I am praying for awesome news tomorrow.

Had an e-mail from Ken Letherman today about Macy. We've made a donation via PayPal.

Macy, you're an inspiration to all of us, regardless of how long we've been on planet Earth.

I have decided to donate a little bit. I don't have much, heck, right now I don't have much of anything at all, to be totally honest, but I want to do the right thing, and so, I've found some money for her.

I may be poor, but she may die, I wonder what's more important. lol.

Hey this is a good thing going. My parents are still paying for my brothers treatment that he had to go through some 20 years ago. He is better now but it costs miliions even with insurance to treat cancer. So the more they can get the better. Lets just hope that she can get better.

Another Update: What a great day!!! Over the past 2 days there were 49 donations with a total of $779.74. Now @ $8,956.54!!! Most of the donations are a result of the members of this forum. Thanks again... Please pray that we get the results tomorrow... I will not be in until late but if I can get access to a computer I will update the forum... It will most likely be late tomorrow night before I can update though.

Thanks again guys. We are getting closer and closer to the goal!! As some have said already, it would be great to bless them even beyond the goal. $10,000 is the goal I set for the website and though it will not cover everything it will be a HUGE help toward covering expenses. The results I am speaking of here are the test results. We should hear from the doctor tomorrow and he is going to tell us that the Cancer is gone. It has been such a long week waiting for the test results and it is my prayer that they come in tomorrow.

The prayers for another great donation day are good too. But the family needs some good news tomorrow. When you are waiting on news like this the time passes so very slow...

        Thanks, Will

Macy, her Mom and Dad as well as the rest of the family have waited all week to hear the results of the tests. Macy went to her appointment yesterday and found that all of the results were not yet in and will most likely be another week before she hears the results. The Dr. did say he is happy with what he is seeing. However, the results of the test are what we are really wanting to hear.

I will keep you updated as soon as I hear the results, I will pass them on to you.

        donations have now passed $9000.
Donations are now at $9013.10. Only

that with PayPal fees but we are so close

    Hey team.

I don't the think target has been met yet.

I know many of you maybe not be able to put the money forward to help Macy, but you could put the word out. Thats something everyone could really do. I have told friends over seas, friends at home and all my work co-workers to at least check out the site and make a donation if they can.

Although the momentum has died down on our end, that doesn't mean Macy's situation has got any less serious or terrible.

If you can't donate, please let people know about the site, situation and/or appeal.

I have an update on Macy's condition. Though the news was not great, there is always a bright side to everything.

Macy's treatments have been 78% effective. This means that there is still 22% of the cancer remaining. Not the news we were looking for but still encouraging that 78% of the size is gone.

Going forward Macy will undergo 14 days straight having radiation treatments. The under lying good news here is her doctor said that the odds of the cancer relapsing with only having Chemo is greater than the cases to where the patient has radiation. The patients that go through successful radiation are less likely to have a relapse than if only treated with Chemo.

We are very close to reaching the goal of 10,000. We are now at $9,059 but the donations have really slowed down. As you can see above, this thread is not getting very many comments over the past few days. I ask that even if you are unable to donate, please leave a comment on the page. You comments show that other people care and help people get involved. We are not far from the goal and if I could afford to donate the amount needed to reach the goal I would but at this time, I am not positioned to donate at that level. If you can donate even as little as $1.00 it will help us reach the goal. Please know that people have donated anywhere from $1.00 up to $3,000 so it is not the size of your donation. It is the fact that you are willing to help. If you can not donate, can you tell a friend? Can you put a product up on your site and tell your customers to donate and send you their paypal email showing they donated?

There are many ways that all of us can help and it will not take much to reach the goal. So, please help us keep this appeal going until we reach the goal.

      Thank you, Will Surren

Thanks a lot for the update Will.

It was only a few months ago that I went over to Singapore to spend 3 months with my sister after she was diagnosed with stage2 breast cancer.

My sister had her Chemo, then had the 2 lumps and her lymph nodes removed - then they decided that because the biopsy on the lymph nodes showed cancer in many of them that she should have another round of chemo to blast her whole body to try and catch any cancer cells that got spread.

She then had the radiation therapy.

So I know what Macy is going through and what you and her relatives must be going through too - I was in your position very recently so my heart goes out to you.

In my case my sister is now clear of cancer so it was a great relief and I got a text from her today saying she was at the hair dresser, which consider she had no hair until recently was great news

Please don't think that we've stopped thinking about you and Macy or that the donations won't continue.

    Regards,

    Andy

Thank you guys! I have another update on the donations meter. We are now at $9121.62. I should also have some special news to post this week. One of the top Internet Marketers contacted me about a gift they are sending to Macy. I am going to ask him if I can share the news of this gift on the website. I know he is not looking to get attention from this gift so I feel I should ask his permission before posting.

Also, I am sure you can imagine how a young girl would feel going in public with no hair. I am sure it is not the most comfortable feeling. Macy was able to get a wig this week that looks like real hair. The colored wig that you see on her site though cute, it doesn't look natural. Your gifts have given her the ability to go in public without feeling that people are staring at her. With her having to go through radiation, Macy knows that her hair will not be growing back as soon as she had hoped. She showed me the wig yesterday and she asked me to pass on to all of you that she is very grateful.

        Thank you all, Will

Ok, I was not able to contact the donor directly so I am sorry for the delay. I was able to speak with his office so I wanted the warriors to be the first to get this news. I am about to update the site meter with the new total. The family had asked me to turn off donations after the total exceeded $10,000 and I had planned to do so. However, now that we know Macy has to go through more treatments, I plan to keep it going a little longer.

Ok, So first I want everyone to know that no matter how large a donation, everyone has helped in great ways. So, whether you sent a prayer, emails to friends, monetary donation of any size, posted a blog article or sent some love toward Macy and her family, you are all great and it is appreciated. I am not posting the info about this donation for any reason other than to show others that our leaders in internet marketing care about others and they silently give back not asking for recognition. These guys have sent several emails personally asking how Macy is doing and It can teach us all that when we do make it big, we can use our wealth to help others in need.

To give you some insight, Mike Filsaime contacted Frank Kern before Mike ever posted to this thread. Between Mike and Frank $4,100 was donated to Macy and Mike told me there were great people here on the Warrior Forum that he wanted to give an opportunity for you guys to get involved. He also told me that he was sure that we would reach the goal. However, if for any reason the goal was not met he would make a donation that would get to the goal.

So, here is the news!!! At Frank Kern's Mass Control Workshop at The Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego, CA Frank had a thought. He had items that he was going to sell at the workshop and he made a decision that he would hold a fundraiser for Macy. Frank raised over $7,000 at this event and sent a donation directly to Macy. I do not know the exact amount of the check at the minute but will get the details ASAP. I know the check was $7,300 +. Wow!!! This takes the donations well above the goal of $10,000. Thank you Mike, Frank and all of you for making this happen. There is also an additional $1,400 that was raised at Franks' workshop that is being delivered in person by the donor. This total is not included in the amount above.

There are 100's of people that have donated in many ways. I would like to list all of the names on Macy's website with a huge thank you. However, I did not think to ask for permission on the site and I did not post a privacy policy.

I would like to ask you here and now, if you helped in any way through prayer, tweets, emails, blogging, monetary donation or in any other way, I would like to place your name on Macy's homepage. No one took advantage of the advertising on the homepage that was offered. I know that many of the people that donated own their own websites and products and made donations without requesting any recognition. Now, I am asking you for permission to thank you in public if possible. I would like to post your name and a link to your site but if you would rather remain anonymous maybe you would allow me to post your first initial and last name. Just let me know by sending an email to donations@macyjohns.com.

Ok, visit the site in the next 15 minutes to see the meter and where we stand on donations now.

Thanks again to all of you from Michael, Pam, Macy and the rest of her family. You can only imagine how much help this is giving this family.

Also, I want to send a personal thanks from me. You have all touched my heart in a very special way. I am honored to be a part of these special gifts to my cousin Macy.

      William Surrency

PS: After hearing of the additional treatments Macy is going to have and the stories I have heard of the amounts parents are still paying toward treatments of their children that are now adults and also seeing the great results from all of the donations, I am going to leave the donation buttons live through $20,000.

PSS: Let's keep this post bumped up for a while if possible to where everyone will know how they have helped in this effort.

    THANKS! Will.

You've done an amazing job helping Macy and you're an inspiration yourself.

I really appreciate you and the effort you've spent in getting the word out and facilitating letting us help.

There are probably way more benefits to what you've done here than just what's happened with the contributions for Macy. I know that many newcomers to this forum don't realise just how different it and the people in it are.

Seeing just how many warriors actually step up and help out in whatever way they can when someone is in need really can make a difference.

There is a big mindset in the IM community online that everyone's out for themselves and will screw anyone over to make a dollar - but example like this thread are able to break that mindset and show that this forum is full of real people with huge hearts.

I'd rather not have a link on Macys website as I think the information on there should be about her - not us, but I appreciate that you're making these offers so that others know that there are real people behind those numbers.

Take care, pass on our wishes to Macy and thanks for everything you're doing - you're a good person and I'm sure she appreciates you even more than we do for what you're doing now.

Today should be Macy's last radiation treatment. The x-ray appointments should be scheduled very soon. The x-rays will tell us how the treatments went. We are very hopeful that this will be the end of cancer for Macy and she will be able to get on with a normal life of a 15 year old girl. Please continue to pray for Macy and I will be here to update you as soon as the x-rays are scheduled and soon after I hope to be back with news of a Cancer FREE Macy...

I know that Macy would want me to put this information out so I am providing you with info about a little girl that Macy knows.
I want to take this opportunity to tell you about a girl who was in the hospital with Macy. Chase Haydu is a 9 year old girl with Wilms' Tumor. After seeing how a simple website has helped Macy and her family, I have donated another site. This one is for The Chase Haydu Foundation. Macy is family so it was slightly different asking others to pitch in and help. However, I know the needs of this little girl and her single mother. You can find out more about Chase at How is Chase Doing? Stay In The Loop. Also, instead of simply asking for donations, I created a website at the Butterfly Marketing Workshop and I am dedicating my portion of the income from this site to the Chase Haydu Foundation. I am also offering a JV Pro Membership in the WSO forum to help promote the site. The commissions payout to the JV's is 95%. You can find out more about the product and the JV offer in the following thread. http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...r-patient.html

I will be back with more info on Macy as soon as the x-rays are scheduled.

      Thanks, Will

An update on Macy for everyone who did so much to help in this effort. Macy has completed chemo and radiation treatments. She received a donation from a group that gave her bedroom a makeover. Also, Disney gave her and her family a dream vacation in Orlando Florida. This all followed the week her radiation treatments ended. Thursday, August 13, 2009 is a very BIG day for Macy and all of her family. We expect to receive the results of all testing. This is the day that we look forward to hearing that she had kicked cancer's but. Please keep praying for remission... I will update you on the results as soon as I hear.

Thank you again for all of your help..

          Great News!!

          Today's News

          Macy Is Cancer Free!!!

She will have another check up in 3 months and will continue checkups every 3 months for 1 year. After one year, she will start having check up's every 6 months. After 5 years of clear results she will be declared in full remission.

Thank you to everyone that donated, tweeted, told friends and Prayed for Macy to be healed. This is awesome news and I want to thank you all for everything you did for our family during this difficult time.

          Thanks again, William Surrency

I am happy to read this awesome news! I will keep her in my prayers anyway, but this post made my day.

I feel bad for this little girl. My sisters daughter is 9, and she is suffering from Leukemia, we've been trying to fight her battles for 2 years now and I understand the pain that a parent has to go through to see their child suffer in ways they are not prepared for. I sent out a tweet for you, hopefully you can find those helpful souls to rally your cause.
