  • These days, anytime there is an intro regarding Ted Nugent, I seem to lose interest :p

he comes off more 'madman' than 'motor city' now...

    • Every since I found out he never did drugs or had wild drunken parties... he just didnt fit the image he projects to me anymore sadly.

However, the first hard rock song I ever learned on guitar was cat scratch fever. I went to this guys house with my friend and he had a les paul and a big marshall half stack amp, cranking out that rhythm in his garage. I was freakin HOOKED....those chords vibrated through my whole being in that garage that day, you could FEEL the amp pushing out crunchy air! It just thumped through your whole body. I couldnt believe how much power was there just from hitting a chord.

Anyway, he taught it to me.

I was never the same after that day...I became electrified, so I have alot to thank Nuge for!

Trust me, when you are hitting these chords through a big marshall stack they are even ten times more powerful sounding than listening to this recording. Awesome feeling. Will never forget that day.

  • Yeah, I knew it back in the Journey To The center Of Your Mind days.
Didn't believe it then....still not sure I do

Dude definitely has a strange head on his shoulders.
  • I've been a big Nugent fan since the first Amboy Dukes album. He can flat out play lead guitar. Puts on a great concert too. Used to anyway. Take ear plugs with you if you ever go see him. I didn't back in the day, but I would now.

Too bad you can't separate his politics from his music 3M. I don't have any problem doing that with music. Actors, yes, but musicans, nope.

    • I didn't really say I didn't still like listening to his music...I just don't like listening to him

  • Personally I think Nugent is great. Not just his music, but from an entertainment point of view, he's just a great character. Agree or disagree with what he says I like listening to him. He holds nothing back. I love that, 'If you don't like what I have to say, tuff shit" attitude.

    • And he's one of the few in the music biz that SAYS what he believes. Most of them disguise their viewpoints as music so they can make people pay to hear their viewpoints LOL
