Cancer? Really?

Hello everyone,

So I've just been diagnostigated with lungs cancer 2 days ago. It can be treated as it's in its preliminary stage but I've only got like 8 days or something for that. The problem here is that doctors ask for a huge amount of money (around 20,000 euros) which I can't afford in any way. You might ask, why not ask your parents / relatives for help. I did. There was not much I could get from them as they are old and retired and I am part of the poor people. I have opened a gofundme donation page but I'm afraid I'm not allowed to post links over here. Even though, I'm still worrying that I will never get that much money in time. What would you do if you would be me? I'm fine with dying but I feel like I should try everything that I can think of to raise that sum.

    I can not begin to imagine what you are going through emotionally. My heart goes out to you in this situation.

    Let me ask where are you from? What country?

    If it were me, I think (who knows until it happens to them) I would travel to a country that has good options in medical tourism. You may find better treatment at a small fraction of the cost. I am partial to Thailand but I would do some research and see if there are other, more economical options available.

    Thank you very much for taking your time to read this first of all. Most people don't even bother! I really appreciate your advices!

    I'm in Canada for the past 5 years, though I'm not originary from here. I've been to various hospitals and the amount is basically the same over here. I don't even have a health insurance which makes things even more complicated. Travelling to find a better / cheaper alternative it's not really an option for me as I'm running low on time. Forgot to mention I'm 23yo.

    Thanks anyway for the advice! Will still consider thinking of everything!

    • You're in Canada and it's costing you that much?!?!?!? Since you've been here 5 years I'm assuming you are a landed immigrant......this would entitle you to some health coverage. I used to work for social services here and have never seen anyone with a health crisis like you've described be turned down for treatment.

      I suggest you contact the Ministry of Health.

  • An other idea I had, and the reason I've got this site is:

    So I've managed to raise a couple of bucks in the past 3 days. Was thinking to invest all that in an ad block on a big site somewhere to drive traffic to my donation page. What do you think about that? I have never done such things and was wondering if that could be a method.

    • I'm going to be a little tough on you here....

      You mentioned in your original post that you had only 8 days to receive the treatment required for your stage of cancer. What are you doing on an Internet Marketing site asking for advise? I understand you have started a donation page and are looking to drive traffic to that page.....however, it is not very likely you will get the amount of traffic you will need in the next 8 days.

      Have you contacted the Canadian Cancer Society, the media? There are many other resources available too.

      8 days is not a very long time........get on the phone or visit every level of government and advocacy group you can find.
  • I use natural cancer killers. I just published what I used to kill my dog's bone cancer. Be syngergistic - go after the cancer with elements that cause apoptosis, go after strengthening your immune system - and exercise and get sunshine. Fight and you can win.

  • First off, i'm always very skeptical of this type of thread.
    Anyway

    I have to agree with Jacqueline.
    What the heck are you wasting your time here for when you have less than 8 days.
    You will NOT get anywhere near the traffic required to reach your goal of 20K Euro.
    PS. I thought Canada's currency was the Canadian dollar, why are you getting quotes in Euro?

    You need to somehow get your plight on National news or equivalent.
