Watched the newest episode? (Spoiler ahead if you haven't)

They bring Morgan back, and I guess he won't be coming back again. And how awesome is Michonne!? I like how the season has progressed so far.

I'm not sure what they are trying to do with her character.
I can tell you who I don't care for,and never have and that is Andrea.
I wish they had killed her off when the farm was over run.

    I'm watching The Walking Dead.

For a college screenwriting class we had to write a spec script of it, so after the class was over(last December) I've kept up with it since it's no longer homework anymore.

You'd be surprised how close some of us came to what has actually happened. Spec scripts have their rules, but in the plot and concept we weren't that far off in what's been done in season 3 so far.

My son had watched all the series and kept on telling me about them, so I spent a weekend watching them all with him. Series 1, 2 and all of 3 so far. Now it's a pain waiting each week for the next one to come on.

Loving it.... was disappointed when Dale died, that was a bit sad. Great series though, really enjoying it!

I don't like Carol either. Doesn't seem like she matters much. The group needs more dynamic members, like Daryl, Morgan or Tyreese.

She was the worst character on the show.

-She was only out to hide what she had done from her husband

-She Almost got Glen and (what's her name) killed to get morning after pills

-She was the cause of Shane and Rick's issues

-The group would have had far less conflict and personality issues without her.

Best thing to happen to them was for her to die.

I'm not arguing that she wasn't the worst character - I couldn't agree with you more.

But the WAY she died - THAT is what makes it the saddest death on the show.

I found it funny that those pricks who were plotting to try & overtake Carl said "he's just some stupid kid, we can take him" - HA!!

That "kid" put a bullet in his own mother's head... go ahead & try it. He wouldn't hesitate to put those randoms down.

Situation created by her--she could have been a more responsible adult and not gotten pregnant post apocalypse in the first place; there wouldn't have had to be a cesarean, and she could have lived, and continued to be a productive member of the group--instead, the group had to take care of her, she cannot help, and is now a liability for the rest of them, not to mention leaving them one able bodied adult short, and adding a helpless infant to the situation.

Her actions have been nothing but a detriment to the survival of the entire group, and they would have been better off if she had never made it out of her home town in the initial phases of the infection.

Name one time that she contributed anything other than strife or emotional stress to any situation; I'll eat my humble pie and I will not say another word about it.

Andrea is the quintessential "I want to help, but don't have the tools to be helpful" character.
Shooting at Daryl: so eager to please, and be the big hero, and she almost kills one of the most important members of the group.

Notice she has the same problems in Woodberry--she wants to be a part of the solution, but she ends up getting in the way.

The character has it's place--its that "road to hell is paved with good intentions" facet of the character makeup that makes her character relatable to us--we all know a person who wants to help, but always gets in the way.

Granted, I'm tired of the " I want to wear big boy pants" attitude that they read into the script for her, I think she could actually be a much bigger part of the script/plot if they would make her less stubborn.

Both are a smartass kid that deserves an ass whippin, except this time he walks around with a sheriffs hat and a real gun.
Again though, the show has issues with time. I mean how long has it been? How far have they traveled? We know its been over nine months ( baby born). We know they went to Atlanta. (CDC).

@Sumit, yeah.. that's because they went from single fire to full-auto when the gov'na showed up.

Single shots are much more accurate than full-auto. They were just trying to match the firepower the gov'na's team was showing, in my opinion.

Either way.. I agree.. that was hilarious to see them all missing, after they had been popping headshots from hundreds of yards away for the entire season.

I think Andrea is really trying. The poster who said she wants to help but doesn't know how nailed it. In Woodbury it looks she find a niche for herself, as of all things, a leader.

Lori's death didn't affect me much. I felt more loss for T-Dog and Amy. It was off when Carol went missing too.

Glenn has become another person since his delivery boy days in "Guts" when he's introduced in Atlanta. While I agree it's time for him to step up and take the helm while the Boss and #2 are absent/preoccupied he was a bit rash in handling his self appointed leadership. I wonder if the group will vote Rick out of leader in the coming episodes. A mutiny sort of thing.

Random: Hershel is a new man with a beard. I really liked him in season 2. The beard changes his look completely. Power to facial hair.

Addressing last week's episode. Morgan. I didn't think we'd ever see him again(like the Hispanic family who left the group early on in season 1). We started season 2 with Rick talking into his radio to Morgan in "What Lies Ahead" telling him not to go Atlanta, but mid season(only a few days in real life time) Rick had forgotten his radio existed. Then there was the time gap between season 2 and 3, which we KNOW now Rick wasn't trying to contact Morgan anymore. No wonder Morgan gave up on him and wanted him to leave. Hopefully we'll see Morgan later on.

    SPOILER AHEAD....

So, season 3 ends. Andrea's death was kind of sad. I didn't like her much but she was starting to change at the end.

Now the group has Rick, Daryl, Michonne, Tyreese, Glenn, Maggie, Sasha... Some mighty fighters. After they kill the Governor, they should head back to Woodbury to setup camp.

Andrea's death was unrealistic at best.

She spent 15 minutes staring at and/or talking to Milton.. she could have easily escaped & survived if she didn't waste that time.

Rick hands her the Python.... so WHY did a shell case hit the ground after she shot herself?

I mean hello?!! It's a REVOLVER!! It does not eject cases......

Another issue I have, is when the gov'na ran out of ammo in his AUG (which was a MIRACLE, since all season long, he seemed to have unlimited ammo for the AUG.. LMFAO) & his pistol, WHY did the remaining two people not gun him down right there????

Why the hell would they get back in the truck with him, after they just watched him kill his own people??

Very disappointed in how it turned out.. even more disappointed in having to wait until October for the next season.

But on a lighter note, my wife & I will be going to that 5k zombie run in Atlanta this September.

So that should be really awesome, especially since that's where the series is filmed.

Who knows maybe Michonne killed her with another gun.

Na. If Michone did it, it would have been with her sword.

Really, that's your reality line? The dead walking the earth, totally plausible... pliers being used to bust out of handcuffs = "THAT SH-- IS FAKE!" ?

        Uh..... no.

Did you even read my other posts?

My "reality line" was when Rick handed her the Python (REVOLVER) and she (Andrea) shot herself - yet you hear the shell case hit the ground.

I'm sorry, but the last time I checked, Colt didn't make a "semi-auto Python" - which means, they DO NOT eject any spent cases........

        THAT is my reality line.

My complaining about her using pliers to break free from the cuffs was just yet another unrealistic writing fail that I decided to point out.

Hmm.. Let's see - what other unrealistic fails can I point out (or should I say, HAVE pointed out?)

Gov'na with an unlimited supply of ammo in the AUG without EVER having to change mags (or at least, until he actually NEEDS that unlimited ammo)... UNREALISTIC.

The .50 cal magically not working after they come running out of the tombs.... UNREALISTIC.

The group from the prison (Rick, etc) seeing all of the people the gov'na slaughtered, yet leaving the weapons & ammo laying there? UNREALISTIC.

Using flashbangs instead of the ACTUAL GRENADES that he got from Morgan's stash? UNREALISTIC.

The list goes on & on & on & on dude.

I was just pointing out some of the things that bothered me the most. lol

Andrea's death was unexpected to me,but not sad.
I agree she spent too much time talking anot enough time trying to get away.
The guy could never have lived anywhere near as long as he did the way the gov gutted him. But since he did,why didn't he drag his innards over and help Adrea? They both knew what was going to happen to him.

I'm surprised none of you mentione the kid shooting the other kid.
    Should he have or not?
I thinbk they intentionally made it a hard call. He was told right away to put the gun down and didn't.
When he was handing it to them,he rasied the barrel slightly.
All in all I think that whole scene was set up to be so ambiguous.

Also as far as the kid goes....daddy needs to whip his ass back into line.
I don't care if its Zombie time, kid needs to be let known where his place is,and it aint as leader of the pack,

I don't know why Carl lied to his dad but he had every reason to shoot the guy. The guy was armed, and didn't put his gun down. He was with Herschel, Beth and a baby. None of them great fighters. (Unlike Rick who was with Daryl and Michonne when they found an unarmed Karen.) What if he pulled a quick one? The guy and his men had just bombed the outposts that he used to guard. They were obviously out to kill them. There wasn't any reason to show mercy. Also to mention, Rick killed Shane (someone the kid used to adore) and sent out Michonne to die. It's not like he had a great role model.

Herschel was so adamant on the group leaving his farm, and this he thinks is wrong?

I'd like to see Tyreese or Daryl lead the group instead of Rick.

Carl had every right to shoot him, and his explanation for why he did was spot on.

Can't argue with the facts.. and that's what Carl gave him.

Since we both saw the same show, it is obvious you can argue with "facts".
So,basically, you are saying Hershel is lying? I don't think so.

As I said in my previous post,I think the producers intentionally made it a shady call, but Carl's explanation is not dead on and he was not honest in his telling of what happened.

Not honest in his explanation of what happened - he was honest with his explanation as to WHY he did it.

And yes, the kid had it coming.

He was told to drop the gun. Instead, he approaches & says "here, take it" - as if he were trying to get close enough to get a jump on him.

Factor in the reasoning Carl gave when he told Rick WHY he did it, and yes.. he was 100% justified in shooting him.

Doesn't matter if he was trying to "surrender" or not - As we've learned with previous bad guys, they will try to take you out the moment they have the chance - regardless of if they had previously surrendered.

& SS, na I didn't notice the pedicure but the wife did. LOL

I agree, which is why I think that the producers intentionally made it shady.

I still don't agree he was justified and the reasoning he gave was NOT valid.

I will take the logic of a mature wiser man like Hershel over a,what is he suppose to be,10,12 14 years old?

Like I said, we watched the same show but did not get the same out of it.
I am willing to bet right now season 4 has us seeing little Carl becoming more and more psycho.

We lost a lot of characters this season. T-Dog Lori, Merle, almost lost Hershel, Axle, Andrea, Milton. It's been a bumpy ride for everyone.

I think Carl was justified too, though it certainly didn't look that way. How he explained it to Rick really made his motivations clear.

Guvs is on a road trip somewhere. We'll probably hear from him again at some point. Maybe he'll have a triumphant return like Merle did. Speaking of Merle I was really beginning to like him.

Big lesson of the show: Start to like anyone, they die

Looking for October and season 4.

Really doesn't bother me if some of these things are a bit unrealistic, after all, we are watching a show about zombies, that in itself is unrealistic!!

My thoughts...... Andrea was annoying and should have left and stayed at the prison when she had the chance, however, I still didn't want her to do and was quite surprised when she did. I thought she'd get away.

But as said above, she spent way too long staring at Milton and talking to him instead of getting on with the job!

As for Carl, yes he did shoot a guy that was surrendering his weapon, but I was actually waiting for the guy to jump Carl at the last minute. I don't know if his killing was 'justified' but I can certainly understand why he did it after hearing what he said to Rick. You have to remember, this is just a kid and kids thing differently than adults do, to him, what he said makes perfect sense.

He is a little shit, but then again, he's living in an age of zombies and had to kill his own mother...... I think it's pretty understandable that he's a bit screwed up now!

I wonder where the Governer went????? And I agree, why didn't those 2 guys just shoot him instead of getting back in the car with him. So many people have had the opportunity to shoot him but it never happens. I guess the show wouldn't be the same without his role though.

Since we are pointing out things, my question when I saw it was why didn't they shoot the gov and his people as they were running out of the door? It would have been like shooting sitting ducks, and if they went back in then why, as Guru said, wouldn't they just use the grenades?

All in all,the episodes always has a lot of inconsistencies, and we have to have a strong sense of disbelief ,but it is a fun show to watch,in that vast wasteland they used to call television, but is now called cable.

Cause if they shot the Governor and his people when they were running out the door, then the Gov wouldn't have been able to shoot his own people and the episode would have finished 30 minutes earlier LOL

Who is your favourite Walking Dead character - dead or alive??

Mine would have to be Daryl I think. I didn't like him so much to begin with but I think his character has progressed well and you can see that he really does have a heart under the tough guy appearance.

    Yep.. Daryl.

& maybe we should all start "liking" the governor.. then they will kill him off too? lmfao that seems to be how it works on this show.

Of course,I've already stated my thought so it is obvious we disagree on this.

The best time to show mercy is when there isn't any reason to.

The reason they were ot to kill them was because they were brainwashed by Reverend Jim Jones,er,I mean the Gov.

And let us not forget that Shane was trying to kill Rick.

When did Rick send out Michonne to die? I'm not saying he didn't,just don't remember that.

"Herschel was so adamant on the group leaving his farm, and this he thinks is wrong?"

I am completely missing your point here. I think this is the perfect example of why Hershel wanted the group off the farm.
