Previous extimates topped at 100,000 years old? Um..................there are ruins of a settlement in Africa that date back to around 200,000. So what did they think built that stuff?

the stone walled ruins in Mpumalanga to a gold-mining, sun-worshipping

civilization that inhabited southern Africa some 200,000 years ago (Tellinger &

    Heine 2010).
TPTB in Archaeology have tried very hard to sequester that finding, and have for the most part succeeded. When news was first released, TPTB really hauled butt to suppress it. Whether you want to look at that as truth or not isn't really that important - in light of the findings of human spear points that date back to around half a million years and to Adams Calendar which shows quite complex knowledge of the sun and very abstract thinking abilities, and dates between 75,000 years (about the same time humans took to seafaring) and 100,000 years. Info on Adams Calendar has not been suppressed. I guess too much has been found dating back that far for them to bother to try to keep it quiet anymore. The old guard is dying off, maybe?

There's been a 100,000 year old road known to achaeologists now forever and a day - in Africa. That info was sequestered real fast, too. Not sure if they will end up re-releasing that sometime in the near future since 100,000 year old info is no longer shocking and controversial.

I swear, if any one ever invents a time machine in my life time,
I am going to steal it, and find out whats what for myself.

I will have to say, i hear less and less people saying the world is only
5000 years old... I never did understand how anyone actually believed that.

I had a friend who believed that. Otherwise, he was a pretty smart guy. I think people shut off their capacity to reason for some aspects of their lives, like the way cars have blind spots.
